What We Do:

Uptake harnesses the power of the emerging physical web to fundamentally transform how businesses make decisions. We partner with industry leaders to build distributed predictive analytics services that grow smarter in one industry because of what we learn in another. The result is a powerful platform that identifies problems before they happen, ultimately saving money, time and lives.

Our team drives this success by connecting customers and partners to the value of the Industrial Internet of Things, business-centric architectures and new and emerging technologies.

What You’ll Do:

As an IoT Technical Product Manager, you’ll work closely with platform and line of business product leaders to define and continually evolve our distributed computing capabilities. You’ll collaborate with teams across the company, helping to refine and build Uptake’s products.

Responsibilities:

  • Work intimately with the IoT development team to scope, refine and build the products and features you define
  • Advocate internally on product and technology strategy related to distributed computing and connectivity in the IIoT
  • Participate in product architecture and design discussions
  • Collaborate with designers and researchers to define user experiences
  • Track and benchmark the performance of Uptake’s platform to identify possible improvements
  • Execute Agile, Lean and Continuous Delivery best practices

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE or ECE
  • 5 to 7 years working across both development and software product management roles
  • Experience developing embedded computing and network applications
  • Deep familiarity with network protocols
  • Deep linux technical expertise, especially kernel, boot loaders and file systems
  • Experience developing and launching software or API products in a business to business environment desirable
  • Execution-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced, loosely structured environment

Nice to have:

  • Ambitious self-starter with a passion for making technology enterprise-ready
  • A demonstrated obsession with wireshark
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and industry communication protocols of various kinds
  • Enterprise experience working with machines and control systems
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to make real-time autonomous decisions when conditions change, based on understanding of the user context, business objectives and client needs
  • Fluency with user-centered design, service design and collaborative execution paradigms (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

Why Work Here?

We build and deliver, then explore to build more. Curiosity and flexibility enable everything we do, and we get stronger as we make each new industry smarter. As a team, we bring our diverse backgrounds, beliefs and experiences to solve problems no one has yet to solve, at a speed no one has yet to experience. We support and challenge one another to bring out a new best in each of us, and we might have a little fun along the way.
