Job Description
Cubii is looking for a seasoned Lead Industrial Designer to join the Product Team. The Lead Industrial Designer is someone who is passionate about design and confident in promoting and defending innovative ideas. This role will work directly within the Product team to drive design thinking and development processes to support product and business opportunities. The ideal candidate is someone who is a thinker, innovative, empathetic, and critical. This candidate will have a portfolio which highlights the stewardship and execution of innovative and commercialized products for a diverse user base.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead industrial design development and execution for Cubii portfolio products

  2. Develop and implement cohesive design strategies by incorporating cross functional insights and conducting design research, in cooperation with Product Manager

  3. Oversee and refine the product design language across the entire Cubii portfolio

  4. Execute product design concepts and development alongside Product team

  5. Communicate product design intent to vendors and mechanical engineers to ensure design language is maintained throughout the entire product development cycle

  6. Work closely with Product Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure design language and products continually align with brand and business objectives

  7. Provide recommendations and insight to inform cohesive user experience across all product touchpoints

Experience Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience as an Industrial Designer in a collaborative design environment, with experience in a fast-paced studio environment highly preferred

  • High proficiency in surfacing, CAD software, and 3D/2D rendering programs and creative programs (Keyshot, Rhino, Octane Render, Adobe Suite)

  • Strong visual eye in styling and sculpting forms and product design experiences

  • Understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes with capability in executing product development through DFM

  • Extensive insight in materials and production methods at scale

  • Experienced in high fidelity sketching, hand-built form studies, and prototypes

  • Versed in design thinking and user centric design processes to conduct primary research and synthesize insights in creative briefs to build empathy

  • Thoughtful, collaborative, and motivated
