Product Compliance Manager - Zoro

Position Overview:
The Product Compliance Manager will be in a highly visible role within the business with key responsibilities in Zoro’s product line expansion initiatives. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, he or she will contribute to the Zoro Legal Department though development, implementation, and management of a Product Compliance program that aligns with Zoro’s corporate strategy and our parent company’s (W.W. Grainger) standards and processes. This role closely partners with team members in our Category Management, Merchandising, Product Information, Customer Service, and Supply Chain organizations, as well as our parent company’s Product Compliance organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the General Counsel and our parent company’s Product Compliance organization, design, implement, and manage Zoro’s product compliance program.
- Review products being offered to customers to determine suitability for sale in US markets.
- Collaborate effectively with team members of all levels across the company, as well as our parent company, to ensure that listed products comply with various regulations and standards.
- Provide guidance and counsel to internal and external business partners, enabling them to proactively address regulatory issues across operations.
- Assist in the classification of hazardous materials per the DOT shipping regulations.
- Maintains deadlines on deliverables and communicates on an ongoing basis with business partners.
- Flexible and can tolerate ambiguity and still operate effectively.
- Create and foster team motivation, collaboration, and positive attitude, and build rapport up- / down- / across- an organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in environmental health & science or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in related field preferred.
- Must have or develop knowledge and experience to serve as a subject matter expert for product compliance related matters.
- Experience in eCommerce/industrial distribution/MRO industry is a plus.
