What You'll Do:

The Software Product Consultant (SPC) provides knowledge and expertise in the deployment of software applications with customers. Concentrating on the needs of the business group, the SPC can relate the software solution to the specific business process and provide the necessary training and consulting to insure a successful implementation. The role is highly targeted to achieving revenue potential in both license sales and ongoing services, while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.  

Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales application expertise and dealer support relating to application functionality and related business processes
  • Achieve corporate team targets for sales and services revenues
  • Provide business support and project management assistance to the technical team
  • Maintain CRM database with updates on dealer interactions, issues and opportunities
  • Assist in solution enhancement efforts that best address customer needs and the ongoing future of the product(s)
  • Provide marketing input for new product introduction
  • Enlist the support of technical specialists, implementation resources, service resources, and management resources as needed
  • Facilitate and deliver dealer training and consulting
  • Assist in solution enhancement efforts that best address customer needs and the ongoing future of the product(s)
  • Facilitate dealer Change Requests with scope reviews, discussions on options with the dealers, preparation and presentation of the Statement of Work

Qualifications:

Required

  • Detailed knowledge of dealer process design / work arounds
  • Highly skilled in software concepts and how they support a business
  • Strong knowledge of specific functional areas of business
  • Skilled in effective planning and coordinating
  • Highly developed presentation skills
  • Highly developed communication skills (oral, written)
  • Ability to handle situations ‘on the fly’ and deal with conflict
  • Knowledge of needs analysis processes
  • Knowledge of training evaluation methods and processes
  • Knowledge of training design methods and processes
  • Knowledge of project management process
  • Excellent customer expectation management skills
  • Knowledge of instructional presentation process and techniques
  • Apply highly developed consultative skills
  • Willing and able to travel internationally

Preferred

  • Knowledge of overall Caterpillar Dealer business or other heavy equipment dealers
