Farmer’s Fridge was founded in Chicago in 2013 with the mission of making wholesome, delicious food easily accessible, so people can live a little happier and healthier. Our network of 300+ software-enabled smart Fridges vend handcrafted salads, grain bowls, sandwiches, and more. We are striving to change the food system from the ground up – one Fridge at a time.
At our core, we are a team that cares – about the business, the impact our product makes, and about each other. We are data-driven, innovative, and quick to move on a good idea. Transparency and collaboration are key to our process, as Farmer’s Fridge is a fast-paced work environment where things are always evolving. We’re proud to have a tight-knit team where people bring their A game every day.

Various team and company social events and town halls keep us connected to each other as well as aligned and focused on our short and long term goals. We’re opening Fridges weekly across the country and are looking for people with passion, ingenuity, and moxie to join our team and help us fulfill our mission of making healthy food as accessible as a candy bar!

As the Product Manager, Business Operations, you will work to ensure we consistently deliver the best possible value and quality to our customers. You will partner with stakeholders in Sales, Kitchen Operations, Delivery Operations and Business Operations to identify ways to leverage technology and our data platforms to help address their needs including improvements to our supply chain and logistics. Your features will contribute to overall business success by helping improve how we forecast, produce and stock our food with maximum efficiency and freshness.

    Within 1 month you will:

    • Complete onboarding: learn about our mission and values, meet the team and agree on initial priorities
    • Take ownership of features already in development, including systems to improve our production operations process and driver efficiency.

    Within 3 months you will:

    • Begin setting product priorities for business operations; establish and maintain your product roadmap
    • Collaborate with design, engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders across the product development lifecycle to deliver features to a high standard

    Within 6 months you will:

    • Set and get alignment around operations product vision and strategy to focus on new initiatives and deliver great results
    • Demonstrate clear improvements on key metrics and KPIs

    Within 12 months you will:

    • Contribute to shaping and developing product team culture
    • Surprise us by identifying new ways to help the product, team and overall company

What are we looking for in a Product Manager, Business Operations?

    • A great problem solver and critical thinker who can understand operational needs and translate into technology tools and automation solutions
    • Hypothesis and data-driven to evaluate opportunities and conceive structured experiments while learning and improving from the outcomes
    • An effective communicator who collaborates well across the company, from partners within product and engineering to peers in other departments and executive leadership
    • Comfortable with a high degree of ownership in a fast-paced, changing environment -- and excited to be a part of shaping who we become

An Insider's view of Farmer's Fridge

What are some social events your company does?

Working at a start-up can be a roller coaster, so we do our best to balance work & play. We have regular get-togethers including happy hours, mixers, and impromptu outings to celebrate the wins at the many restaurants & breweries in the area. We also throw a mean party, are 2018 kickball league champions and have yoga classes in the office monthly.

    Eden

    Revenue & Sustainability Manager

What does your typical day look like?

Given the fast-paced environment at the Fridge, things change so quickly around here. Each day comes with new projects and priorities - and no two days look the same. From meetings and calls to strategizing with the team, and travel, in the two years I've been here, it's safe to say that each day is different.

    Syed Shah

    Head of Expansion

What makes someone successful on your team?

In a space dominated by big food players, we are building something truly innovative, and the response from the community reaffirms that we're on our way to helping people live healthier, happier lives. Challenges are met with optimism and passion instead of deep sighs and frustration, and the team really bands together to achieve shared goals.

    Caroline

    Director of Operations Systems

What is your vision for the company?

Farmer's Fridge aims to make fresh, healthy food as accessible as a candy bar. We are on a mission to improve public health through better access to delicious, nutritious food.

    Luke

    Founder & CEO

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

I love coming to a place where my coworkers are supportive of my trials as a working Mom. Where time is made for quiet, uninterrupted work with weekly clarity breaks. Where we are fully supported in our projects. I get to bring all of myself to work, the Mom, the food lover, and the runner—and feel like each part is appreciated and celebrated!

    Sarah

    Customer Development Manager
