What we are looking for:
You’re innately curious; you’re driven to understand, learn, and solve problems every day. You may not have the answers right away, and that's OK; what matters is getting in and figuring it out. We're a small team, so you'll need to contribute in as many different areas as you can including project management, training, product management, and data analytics just to name a few. As such, you must be a skilled communicator; you will be working collaboratively with people across the entire organization to understand our customers and their challenges, as well as to help UB as a whole understand product vision and strategy. We're looking for a person who wants to make an impact; who will challenge the status quo; who is not afraid to fail; and who will continue to drive forward until the solution is in place.

Objectives of the Role:

  • Create, maintain, and build alignment behind a product strategy for one or more product lines based on the overall product vision.
  • Analyze consumer needs, current market trends, client feedback, competitor offerings, and partnership opportunities from an ROI perspective to guide the prioritization process.
  • Define projects and work with development teams to ensure that the goals are achieved.
  • Build appropriate go-to-market plans for new product releases by leading cross-functional teams through the product development and launch processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for products, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements development, and product launch.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams.
  • Write approachable, audience-specific product strategy documents that clearly describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical specifications, revenue, and ROI.
  • Analyze market data to develop sales strategies, and define product objectives for effective marketing communications plans.
  • Represent, communicate, and build shared understanding of product strategy and deliverables across the organization by presenting at stakeholder meetings, company demos, trainings, and launches.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, marketing, customer support, and sales teams on the development, QA, and release of products and balance of resources to ensure success for the entire organization.
  • Work with marketing to develop product messaging and positioning that differentiates UrbanBound’s products across the different market segments.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working in product, product management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in performing rapid A/B testing with closed-loop reporting.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills, with a demonstrable ability to explain complex concepts in an easily understood fashion.
  • Demonstrable success working with cross-functional teams to deliver results on time with limited direction.
  • Ability to understand business objectives and stakeholder needs and communicate them to the tech team to collectively make decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment.
  • Experience with data analytics, creation of KPIs and metrics and determining ROI of products.
  • Understanding SQL is a plus.

We provide:

  • A collaborative work environment where you will make decisions daily that positively impact the business.
  • A competitive salary and benefits that include pre-tax commuter benefit, 401K, discounted membership to building’s gym, and competitive health, dental and vision coverage.
  • A work-life balance where family and health come first. Need to take a break? No problem. We have an open vacation policy, as we want everybody to feel well-rested, energetic, and ready to seize the day.
  • A contemporary, welcoming office located in the central loop’s newly-renovated Franklin building — one of the most recognized skyscrapers in Chicago. This address has easy access to CTA trains and Metra and provides all the benefits of working downtown, such as an Amazon Go in the lobby, and several other restaurant options in the building.
  • Company-wide celebrations; game night is a regular occurrence at UrbanBound as is wine night, book club, and sporting events. From trolley rides to boat tours to Whirlyball outings when we meet our quarterly goals, everyone celebrates!
