Position Summary:

Millions of people visit Legacy.com every day seeking information and guidance on all aspects of end-of-life planning. We’re looking for a digital product manager to own the core end-of-life products and user experience on Legacy.com. The product manager will lead a product portfolio and be enabled as the product owner to identify new business opportunities and take comprehensive ownership, articulating the vision for a winning product, and iterating until success. This role requires a unique blend of business, UX and technical savvy; you must motivate teams, understand market needs and define innovative solutions that exceed expectations with growth potential.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Proven in the area of digital product management and have a solid understanding of online revenue models, lead generation, local advertising, local search, business ratings and reviews
  • Experienced/interested in educating families about end-of-life/death care services; funeral service background is a plus
  • Dynamic and results oriented, while providing leadership and direction with excellent communication
  • An innovative problem solver who can transform ideas into reality
  • Responsibilities

  • Work with local funeral homes and service providers, helping to understand their needs and market their services to local consumers 
  • Have empathy for people seeking end-of-life information and guidance and optimize the Legacy.com ecosystem to educate and help users find local resources
  • Identify key customer experience and business value, associated with new concepts, clearly communicating the goals, objectives, scope and roadmap
  • As Product Owner on an agile scrum team, represent the user/customer needs, convey the vision and goals at the beginning of every sprint and prioritize the backlog
  • Implement regular progress and performance reporting and communicate to all business stakeholders
  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, to ensure the product portfolio showcases innovation and stays ahead of the competition
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, Funeral Service or related field; MBA or related advanced degree is a plus
  • 3+ years of experience managing large-scale, user or customer facing products; B2B experience is a plus
  • Strong interest in usability and direct interaction with users to understand the problems to solve
  • Solid analytical skills and intuition, able to draw conclusions from data, key performance indicators and trends
  • Disciplined time manager with strong ability to determine and manage priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and explain complex elements in a simple way
  • Ability to remove roadblocks through creative problem solving, negotiation or conflict management skills
