The Opportunity:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and energetic Product Owner to join our team and help push our products forward to bring them to the next level of excellence in our industry.

The Product Management team works closely with customers, prospects, partners, service, sales, and engineering teams to guide new features and products from idea to release. As a Product Owner, you will translate business needs into technical requirements to deliver technology solutions to help make our clients happy. In this role, you will work closely with many diverse groups both inside and outside the company, be a bridge of communication to solve problems, deliver fantastic products, and help drive success at Litera.

A Day in the Life:

  • Collaborate with Product Managers to make their product vision, strategy, roadmap, and Epics a reality
  • Drive release planning and execution to successfully deliver both strategic and tactical market driven products
  • Provide daily feedback to Engineering on user experience and design
  • Demonstrate incremental progress on release goals and clearly communicate the business value of that progress to internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively work with Engineering to write and refine User Stories with clear acceptance criteria which effectively communicate problems to be solved
  • Use market research and market driven feedback to own and prioritize your backlogs
  • Leverage data and tools available to closely monitor sprint and release health
  • Report on sprint and release health with Program Management so you can take the appropriate actions with Engineering to ensure success
  • Partner with service, sales, and engineering teams to act as the voice of the customer and to channel feedback, mediate, and drive consensus between these groups
  • Work with marketing, technical writing, service, and sales to successfully launch products, attend industry and client events, provide thought leadership, as well as create training materials

Role progression:

Within 1 month, you will:

  • Complete our Product onboarding process
  • Meet your team and learn the nuances of our business, and where we are going
  • Understand our product roadmap
  • Help Product Managers and Engineering refine Epics, UX designs, mock-ups, and wireframes
  • Write and refine User Stories for these Epics with Engineering
  • Demo release progress on Litera TV

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Continue to develop a deeper understanding of customer problems and converse freely about them
  • Become an autonomous member of the Product team and independently plan work to meet deadlines
  • Plan your first release with Product Managers and Engineering
  • Create internal documentation and conduct internal training on new features and functionality
  • Report progress on sprint and release goals

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Collate your own operational and product insights to promote continuous improvement and foster a kaizen culture
  • Develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Ensure that your backlogs are refined such that they have a rolling runway of at least 6-9 months in accordance with the product roadmaps

  • You have a growth mindset and have strong problem-solving skills
  • You are self-motivated leader with a curiosity and passion to deliver great products and user experiences
  • You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to translate complex business and technical details to and from development and client facing groups
  • You work well with multiple stakeholders with differing objectives in a dynamic environment
  • You have a working knowledge of agile concepts or lean practices
  • You have great organization skills and can prioritize work
