Rewards Network (RN) is looking for an experienced Product Owner to help us deliver solid business requirements, prioritize stories, and manage development work through our backend Platform Teams. You will work with our Product Managers, Product Leadership, & Business Stakeholders to guide the vision of what needs to be built, determine business needs, break down work into stories, write and review comprehensive stories & requirements as part of the engineering team to deliver high-quality software. This person will need to have a deep understanding of Agile software development models (preferably Kanban). What You'll do with Us

  • Work with the Product team (PMs & leadership), engineering teams, and key business stakeholders to identify, write and review business requirements for several development teams
  • Define acceptance criteria for stories, the business outcomes that we want, and validate that they are met. (Bonus points if you can write business requirements in Given, When, Then format)
  • Responsible for delivering roadmap concepts, getting products into production, and drive projects to completion
  • Prioritize development stories based on business value independently and/or under the direction of the PMs, leadership, etc.
  • Be able to articulate the business value and evangelize to engineering and stakeholders why some work is prioritized over other work
  • Support Product Managers in Go-To-Market Planning and additional Product Marketing initiatives
  • Work with the Product Managers to manage, maintain and prioritize a Product Roadmap and participate in reviewing the roadmap with executive team members on a regular basis
  • Own the development lifecycle and fully participate in the Agile development process: story sizing, gathering/writing requirements, running issues to ground for the developers (to keep them on task), participating in business demos and/or training when appropriate, etc.
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting the development team, keeping them on stories, blocking & tackling for them where needed.
  • Lead and/or participate in story mapping exercises; be able to break down large, ambiguous, and complex ideas into manageable chunks of work.
  • Forge strong working relationships with stakeholders across functions 

What You've Done

  • 2-3+ years of Product software development-related experience in an Agile/Kanban development team with a firm understanding of the processes
  • Track record of bringing new products & features to market
  • Operate independently and effectively in leading projects (internal and external) working with a wide range of people, including executive leadership
  • Be comfortable balancing changing priorities and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a high level of service & ownership mindset
  • Experience using Jira & Asana project tools strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, software engineering, IT, computer science or related experience
