Hyatt seeks a motivated and prolific Data Product Manager who is passionate about data to help us build out the next generation of data products, algorithms and applications. The Data Product Manager is responsible for defining domain level data product vision(s) and guiding the creation of world-class data products democratizing access, accelerating algorithmically powered processes, and fostering data-driven decision making across the company.
In this role you'll define and guide the development of business-critical, scalable and robust data solutions, and intuitive and trustworthy data products that power data discovery, self-serve analytics, operational processes and drive business innovation. This position will guide data product research, facilitate product strategies, design solutions, and guide Hyatt's agile development and product roll-out processes.
You will be part of a global data community and you will work in cross-functional and agile project teams alongside Data Engineers, Data Stewards, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, other Application Product Managers, and executives to improve the experience of guests and colleagues worldwide.

  • Data Product Requirements, Roadmaps and Delivery : Support or drive the prioritization, scope business requirements and schedule of data and algorithmic product activities for select products by working closely with business, analysts, stewards, architects, scientists and engineering leads. These activities include new data product development, product enhancements and on-going support
  • Data Quality : Ensure data quality definition, monitoring, alerts and recourse is built into roadmap plans and engineering requirements of each data or algorithmic initiative/product
  • Data Governance : Ensure new product or algorithmic requirements are in compliance with Hyatt policies and/or corresponding contracts before being passed to engineers
  • Process Improvement : Continually improve processes by collecting and acting upon customer and end-user data and algorithmic product feedback, including but not limited to existing product support ticket process and SLAs
  • Modernization : Gain an intimate understanding of the current methods of building and delivering data pipelines into Hyatt's Data Platforms and define how this should work in the future
  • Communication : Develop communications tools, including product collateral, presentations, competitive analysis, videos and articles to ensure optimal knowledge usage of products that leverage data and algorithmic products
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with technology and integration partners who rely on data and algorithm products for their end-solutions
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values

Qualifications
• Passionate about data, product management, data analytics and data science. An advocate for making their power accessible to anyone. You're a champion of a data-driven and customer-focused culture
• Prefer Master's degree in Business, Design, Finance, Computer Science, Data Architecture, or related field but not required
• 5+ years of hands-on experience leveraging or managing data products to drive business value with 2+ years of product management experience and a record of successfully managing, building or launching enterprise or consumer software, applications or business intelligence tools
• Experience with B2B and B2C analytical software is highly desirable but not required
• You have experience in guiding the strategy of a product and the underlying data within to ensure it collectively achieves business objectives
• You have experience defining product roadmaps, and gathering, translating and prioritizing internal stakeholder requirements
• You have excellent organization, communication and presentation skills. You are comfortable presenting the product and its technical capabilities to application and engineering teams, executives, business users, scientists and analysts
• Experience with SQL and working in a cloud data warehouse / BI project environment is a plus
• Proven ability to influence and work with cross-functional teams. Significant skill required to work effectively across internal functional areas in situations where clear parameters may not exist.

The Hyatt Corporate Office is located along the Chicago River within Chicago's Loop neighborhood. It is close to train stations, bus stops, restaurants and nightlife.
