Real Appeal, now part of Rally Health, is a proprietary, year-long intensive lifestyle intervention program that focuses on helping participants lose weight and maintain weight loss. Our ultimate goal is to mitigate or prevent obesity related issues such as pre-diabetes, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The program is delivered live over the Internet and combines entertaining and educational videos, live virtual coaching and online group participation. We sell our program directly to insurers/payers (Fortune 50 companies), who then offer it as a free benefit to employees.

Our Product Development group is vital to our success and leads the future growth of Real Appeal. Success in this position relies on many factors: your ability to deal with ambiguity, adapt and embrace change, and a long-term commitment to enable lasting weight loss through lifestyle change.

As a Senior Director, Product Strategy, you will help to shape our product’s vision, strategy and features to exceed members’ expectations and delight our clients. Work closely with SVP and the rest of Real Appeal’s ELT team to partner on matters of technology, operations, user experience, and finance as it relates to product enhancements and market expansions, while taking care to maintain the integrity of our program.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work with clients and other stakeholders (UHC, Optum) to gather and assess business goals, market needs, and other input to formulate product features, functions and requirements
  • You can lead the development of new, as well as drive and enhance existing, capabilities from inception to launch
  • You'll need to act as a mediator between the business leaders and the technical teams - communicating consumer/client needs, market trends, and translating those needs and trends into new product features
  • You will also collaborate and partner with UnitedHealthcare and Optum as needed to ensure alignment with organization-wide product plans and strategic priorities
  • In addition, you'll work with user experience team to manage total performance to meet critical business metrics, including Net Promoter Score, user satisfaction, consumer engagement, and financial results
  • You'll help build a collaborative culture and foster relationships with both internal and external strategic partners. Provide sales support including answering RFP questions as needed

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of product or strategy experience, focused in healthcare and/or corporate environments
  • 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience in any healthcare related field preferred
  • Experience working in matrix environment preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, spoken, and presentation communications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working collaboratively at all levels and across business lines using influencing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects / assignments and competing priorities
  • Ability to maintain focus and a positive attitude in ambiguous or high pressure situations
  • Professional demeanor, comfortable in client-facing role, high EQ
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment which requires creativity and self-motivation
  • Ability to travel up to 10% based on Business needs

While our first preference is L.A., we'll also entertain locations in San Fran. CA, MN or IL.
