What You'll Bring
At least seven (7) years previous experience within the automobile telematics space as a director or higher level either supporting personal and/or commercial auto insurers or working directly for these insurers.
Deep understanding of challenges facing auto telematics solution providers (costs, consumer adoption, privacy, technology, etc.).
Demonstrated success bringing telematics solutions to market for insurers
A strong current understanding of the telematics marketplace in terms of offerings, services, etc.
A solid understanding of the insurance business is required - product development and management experience within insurance is highly desirable
Strong collaborator and communicator; ability to be client-facing and cultivate relationships is critical
Creative thinker with an intellectual curiosity with a passion for telematics solutions and an entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to grow a business

Impact You'll Make
You will have shared responsibility for the development and execution of product strategies and objectives related to entering the automobile telematics market. It is anticipated that in time, this position will be further supported by additional staff.
Primary responsibilities include assessment of market opportunities and strategy; fostering and managing partnerships that are established to support our product development goals; and, go-to-market planning and support. This is a senior level role on the team but will also have tactical responsibilities. This individual is expected to bring deep domain experience to bear to assist TU with entry into this market with a differentiated solution that capitalizes on TU’s strengths.
Strategic analysis – Engage with a variety of TransUnion stakeholders to understand TU’s capabilities and evaluate TU’s current telematics strategy in an effort to identify improvements and/or enhancements to the strategy. This evaluation will need to consider competitive positioning, revenue opportunity, profit margin, partnership requirements, possible acquisition targets and strategic fit with TU’s corporate strategies. Contribute to the long-term strategy of the insurance division and the three-year planning process.
Product Development & Management – Oversee all phases of the development of our auto telematics strategy including CBA development, concept reviews, legal and compliance review, contracts, GTM strategies and collateral development. Provide perspective on our non-auto IOT strategy and pursue the introduction of solutions that will support our non-auto IOT strategy, where possible.
Sales Support – Collaborate closely with sales team to identify product gaps, opportunities and provide subject matter expertise as needed with customers; participate in client-facing meetings or conferences with sales and other TU groups; develop sales collateral for marketing products; support marketing sales and account management to ensure products are effectively launched and set up for success.
Internal Collaboration - Serve as a subject matter expert for auto telematics products; work with market planners to align on strategy, identify and create incremental telematics products for emerging markets such as Life, Commercial and Homeowners; work closely with data science team to prioritize and collaborate on analytical/model R&D efforts.
Vertical Marketing Representation - Contributes to thought leadership activities including TU’s annual customer summit; present as needed on auto telematics product development at conferences and/or at cross-organizational internal meetings.
Lead partnership efforts – Seek out the necessary partnerships that are needed to support our telematics strategy and act our primary liaison to these companies. Coordinate the contracting with these partners and foster a positive relationship with them.
