As a diehard sports fan there’s nothing more frustrating than missing a big play because you were stuck, waiting in a line, for a hot dog and beer. Our purpose is to enhance the gameday experience through in-stadium mobile ordering. The FanFood App allows fans to either order their concessions from the comfort of their seat and get notified when their order is ready for pick-up or to get concessions delivered directly to their seat.

We take pressure off long concession lines, help grow business in a profitable manner by optimizing in-venue online ordering performance and increase revenue for sports teams and concession operators.

FanFood is a nationwide app executing events on a daily basis through our partnerships in the following sports segments: Amphitheaters, Golf Courses, High Schools, International Raceways, Minor League Baseball Affiliates, MLS Soccer Clubs, NCAA Collegiate Properties, and Youth Sports Complexes. Location:

This position will be located in Chicago, Illinois in Clichéd startup office fully equipped with comfy chairs, white boards and bottomless espresso, located in the heart of River North.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will work to deliver a best-in-class web and mobile concession ordering platform. You will provide development of custom applications including front-end development, server-side development and API integration. You will have a direct role in design, programming, technical support and documentation of the applications while working with external technology vendors and partners.

As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will work closely with the CTO and business stakeholders to translate user stories into technical design requirements and define the technical direction of our applications. You’ll be a resource for any stakeholder interested in learning more about our product and a valuable asset to senior leadership as it relates to the overall goals of FanFood.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build something awesome and have a great time doing it!
  • Build and maintain our deployment pipeline
  • Build applications for iOS and Android mobile platforms
  • Work within an Agile / Scrum engineering environment
  • Increase visibility of application performance and user experience
  • Assist with managing external developers and vendors

What We Are Looking For:

  • 6+ years of related experience with at least 3 years in mobile development
  • In-depth understanding of mobile and web related technologies such as JavaScript, Angular, React, React Native, Ionic, and Cordova
  • Proficiency with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and TDD in a Git environment
  • Solid understanding of best practices in mobile design and development
  • Experience with integrated applications across web and mobile channels
  • “Get things done”, independent, and organized approach
  • Passionate about technology and keeps up-to-date on latest technology trends

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in either the food and beverage, retail, and/or entertainment industry
  • Strong knowledge of e-commerce products and terminology
  • Experience with Point of Sale (POS) Systems
  • Experience with translating data analytics to actionable data
  • Experience with location based and proximity aware applications
