Job Description
Subject matter expert for all electronic funds activity providing non-customer facing support and manages item-processing work. Primarily responsible for managing electronic funds transfer team and continually improving electronic funds exception processing. ACH expert with high level of collaboration with multiple areas of the business, including but not limited to, compliance, legal, payments strategy, and other support teams. Develops solutions for improvement of electronic funds processes. Analyzes processes to document requirements and manages business needs.
Responsibilities
- Manages project development process from requirements to implementation with and without management assistance.
- Provides National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA) guidance and expertise for handling of ongoing exception-processing support for handling payment remediation efforts for customers with Risk, Business Technology, Legal, and other business partners. Attends benchmarking conferences and seminars to maintain accreditations and remain up to date on industry knowledge to keep Discover competitive. Stores, retrieves, and manipulates data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
- Direct management for non-customer facing support and electronic funds transfer item processing. People management and development: leads and develops high-potential team members to perform in current and future roles. Evaluates work performance, develops objectives, and oversees workload. Conducts annual performance evaluations, including recommendations for salary increases and bonus eligibility if applicable. Responsible for decision making for managing item-processing work, planning, and directing work among the team to ensure adherence to service-level agreements, making resiliency and capacity plans.
- Focuses on continual improvement using forward thinking and problem-solving skills to provide exception-processing solutions. Analyzes processes and provides problem statements with recommendations for process improvement, automation, or elimination. Drives business improvements via influencing others.
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in Banking, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- In lieu of a degree, 6+ years of experience in Banking, Finance, Accounting, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
If we had our say, we’d also look for:
- NACHA Certification or willing to begin certification process upon hire
- 1+ years of experience in people leadership
