Job Description
As McDonald’s continues to innovate and disrupt the restaurant industry, we are looking to add a Technical Product Director to our team. This leader will establish and drive our technical vision and strategy for drive thru products, specifically focusing on voice ordering and enhanced vehicle detection, which use state of the art technologies (ML, computer vision, voice) and will, over time, become foundational elements of the drive thru.
As the Technical Product Director, you will split time between our Innovation Center in Romeoville, IL and our headquarters in Chicago, IL. Where you will manage a team of product managers, analysts, and vendors in both locations and work together to bring individual components of our product roadmaps into an integrated solution.
What you'll be doing:
- You will work closely with peer product directors and managers across all channels and capabilities to prioritize initiatives, share insights on customer demands, find opportunities for teamwork, and coordinate product development for timely delivery.
- Lead the definition of product requirements using input from internal and external sources; such as market trends, technology innovations, industry standards, marketing, operations, and customer feedback.
- Understand and anticipate crew, customer, and business needs to develop an engaging and profitable experience.
- Define and lead priorities for engineering sprints and product releases.
- Build and execute optimization experiments to validate and optimize features.
- Craft business cases to support feature prioritization and investment.
- Maintain organized oversight of specific product delivery schedules to ensure the proper balance of speed, features, timing, and integration with other functions, in tight coordination with Program Management.
What you need:
- Computer Science / Engineering degree, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of Product Management or equivalent experience in a digital or customer-facing technology solution context, preferably leading agile development teams.
- A consistent track record of delivering successful products to market.
- Strong quantitative analysis skills; analytics approach and skills in research and analysis.
- A passion for driving an improved customer experience as well as continuously improving operations.
- Experience and expertise in project and product planning, including product definition, feature prioritization, trade-off processes, and roadmap creation.
- Broad experience across the IT SDLC including development, deployment and support, as well as multidisciplinary expertise in financial, vendor management, communications and driving results in a global organization.
Nice to haves:
- Retail and Digital technology experience, including in-store technology experience.
- A deep understanding of the software development process; enterprise or software development experience.
