At closerlook, the project manager is the day-to-day internal team leader for all brands and projects they manage.  They are an integral part of the success for each project, and looked upon as the main knowledge holder on their teams.

Project managers must have a strong ability to collaborate and work under pressure, as well as a passion for leading innovative projects through their full life-cycle.  They should also be able to manage multiple projects concurrently, along with all timelines and finances associated with those projects.

Communication Skills

  • Acts as the conduit between the account team and the internal project team
  • Demonstrates the ability to share information with the correct members of the larger team
  • Able to understand what should and should not be communicated across the team
  • Displays sense of urgency in responding to project requests and problem solving
  • Able to take on new requests with a positive outlook

Project Ownership/Team Leadership

  • Able to effectively lead internal project teams (Strategy, Analytics, Creative, Tech, Account) across all assigned projects
  • Has the ability to build and maintain a strong team atmosphere
  • Doesn’t shy away from new, or constantly changing projects
  • Able to handle tough conversations with team members
  • Improves team processes in an effort to learn from mistakes and/or successes
  • Is solution-focused when working with any member of the team
  • Able to bring in the right individuals at the right time when a project is running off-track in any respect
  • Is responsible for all aspects of submission of materials for MRL reviews, including routing of comments and rework during the review process
  • Understands when to use process as a guideline and when to adapt processes based on project or client needs
  • Is nimble and can look for work to pull forward in the event of an unexpected delay

Project management focus

  • Knows how to prioritize work when deadlines converge – for themselves and project teams
  • Able to independently develop and manage timelines across all projects
  • Works with Operations and team leads to mitigate resourcing constraints; can assist Operations with prioritization of work if required
  • Able to resource the right people, for the right amount of hours, while managing ever-changing resource needs
  • Keeps an eye on the details while remaining organized across all projects
  • Regularly provide reliable pricing and scoping information for the Account team
  • Understands and takes into consideration any client-specific sensitivities when providing scope & budget for new work
  • Is able to scope new work in great detail
  • Possesses the appropriate level of technical knowledge necessary to interface with other competencies at closerlook, explain how our proprietary platforms(s) work and manage successful technical projects

Financial focus

  • Responsible for tracking all vendor and pass through costs to a project budget
  • Tracks and manages project related expenses
  • Able to develop and manage budgets with the input of other competencies
  • Works with the account sup partner to set a revenue projection on a monthly basis, and mitigates any issues that prevent from hitting that revenue, then makes and adjustment up or down as required, regularly throughout the month
  • Understand the impact of delays in work and revenue recognition and understands how to mitigate these situations
  • Consistently meet financial objectives by accurately forecasting project revenue
  • Responsible for financial close out of a project upon completion – reconciling all labor, invoices and expenses against the project
  • Responsible for all upkeep and accuracy of all project data. Project data includes financials, resource scheduling and timelines. Updates and assesses project data at minimum once per week

Requirements

  • Four year college degree
  • Four or more years of agency (or relevant) project-management experience
  • Proven experience managing digital projects with teams of 10+ people
  • Proven understanding of the technical facets of website development
  • Solid experience working on projects that have data and analytics components, with an ability to understand how the data output can be used to form insights and drive additional tactics
  • Ability to manage multiple projects totaling $1MM - $1.5MM in revenue annually
  • Pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated industry, knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of resourcing creative and technical teams across projects is a plus
