Today, our team consists of a digital wealth clearinghouse, an eSports gaming business, an outsource provider of flood insurance, a Premier League soccer team, a crypto currency brokerage, a value investment arm, an incubation lab, and more.
This role is based out of Chicago.
What you’ll do all day:
- Works with functional team to create project plans and detailed schedules
- Owns all unassigned action items for the program until the right owner is assigned
- Owns reporting on program status in all directions
- Partners with Leads for risk assessment & mitigation
- Educates/Enforces agreed upon processes & methodology rules
- Educates/Enforces roles and responsibilities
- Provides transparency in discovery and delivery of work - Product Increments (MVP) and upcoming priorities aligned with vision
- Oversee the Program in the planning, prioritization, and coordination of work in an effort to optimize business value at the Platform Program Level
- Prepare and deliver weekly progress updates, prepare project plans, and update team members internally
- Coach, mentor and reinforce Lean and Agile practices with Program teams, stakeholders and peers
- Identify critical path and provide input on strategic staffing allocations that help meet on-time delivery
- Facilitate the Scrum of Scrums meeting; ensure best practices are being followed
- Facilitate Program Increment (PI) or Release Planning Event as needed
- Opportunity to provide in-house informal agile coaching to product and business teams
- Drive program, release level and enterprise improvement and standardization activities across the program when applicable
- Partners with Agile Coaches / Scrum Masters on Teams’ Metrics Transparency and Narrative
- Partners with Leads across the teams to identify and track opportunities for continuous operational and/or team improvements in People, Product & Process; partner to help with Team or Program level Retrospective or Inspect & Adapt sessions
- Support Program’s current delivery of working software, while balancing time by also collaborating with program leadership team members to prepare the backlog of upcoming work
- Work closely with all work streams to ensure successful completion of complex projects on time as expected
What you need to succeed:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Strong technical credentials, with at least 3-5 years’ experience
- Demonstrated experience in software development and/or leading software development projects
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple processes and priorities effectively. Proven ability to lead large projects effectively using project management tools.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral, including ability to navigate potentially challenging situations both internal and external to the business.
- Ability to quickly assess assigned task requirements, identify potential challenges, and communicate effectively in order to expedite the successful execution of assigned work.
- Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
- Understanding of Scrum/Agile methodology with awareness of challenges of transition from Waterfall to Agile.
- Knowledge of technology and ability to understand dynamics if SDLC
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Service Desk, or any SCM systems
