Who we are:

We're a curious and humble group of people who love to build things. Learning is the key to our culture, and we're always looking for new skills to pick up and ways to hone our craft. We bring that same curiosity to our clients, digging into their needs so we can make sure our design and development projects look great, work great and push their businesses forward.

At Table XI, you’ll get exposure to many different people and projects. Our clients look to us as a strategic partner, and we make decisions that affect the long-term success of their businesses.

Who we’ve helped:

  • Northwestern University’s research facilities perform and advance clinical research

  • More than 25,000 people think big at Chicago Ideas Week each year

  • Maria Pinto re-launch her fashion business

  • A home care startup connect caregivers with clients and their families

  • Families suffering from tragic circumstances connect with resources and each other

  • Roger Ebert solidify his legacy as a film critic

But the work is just part of what makes Table XI a rewarding place to be. We make time for people to follow their interests, whether that's volunteering at Code Platoon, speaking at RailsConf, learning a new framework or writing books. If there's something you're passionate about, we want to help you pursue it so you can teach it to the rest of us. Our weekly Lunch and Learns have covered everything from an X-Files approach to design, to React/Flux basics, to culinary skills for home cooks, to website performance

Everyone on our team gets:

  • Daily gourmet meals cooked in-house with vegetarian, gluten-free, and other options available

  • The promise of minimal travel

  • A casual loft office that pairs an open floor plan with quiet rooms

  • Competitive compensation

  • Cigna health insurance

  • 401k plan, including employer matching

We're looking for an Agile project manager who loves to unpack a puzzle and work to see it solved.

We need your strategic vision and your tactical expertise — our clients will look to you for leadership on how the project runs and where it should go. You’ll start each project by gaining an understanding of the business, its needs and its constraints, then you’ll work with your team to propose the right approach for meeting them. Once discovery is complete, design and development starts, and you’ll use Agile methodologies to keep delivery on track, take the team temperature and recommend improvements. After a successful launch, you’ll continue to support your clients by acting as a sounding board and offering advice on the long-term product roadmap. Our clients count on us to act as strategic partners, and we’ll give you the room to build real relationships that last. (Really last — we’re still working with our first client, 16 years later.)

Here’s what we expect from you:

  • You have demonstrated experience leading cross-disciplinary software teams using one or more agile methodologies (scrum, lean, kanban, home-grown, etc.).

  • You understand how to bring strategy, research, UX/UI design and development together to build incredible products.

  • You treat your clients’ projects like they're your own. You make sure clients feel like an essential part of the team, and that they're never surprised by cost, timeline, scope, or any other element of the project.

  • You're an excellent communicator with a range of audiences, no matter the medium.

  • You like to both teach and learn.

  • You prefer a highly collaborative, agile environment. You're at your best when working as part of a diverse team.

  • You're focused on understanding business and user needs and providing value to both.

  • You think holistically about project needs. You help solve problems and drive project success, including making hard decisions and trade-offs. You foresee risks and work to mitigate them calmly.

  • You enjoy multitasking and working on lots of different business problems. You can juggle the needs, budgets, timelines, priorities and personalities of multiple clients at a time.

  • You are comfortable getting to the root of what needs to happen, and can facilitate a variety of discovery activities for businesses and users.

  • You have experience analyzing and documenting business and user requirements, testing features to confirm they work as expected, and providing clear feedback when they don’t.

  • You’re always looking for a better way to do things, and will work with the rest of our project strategy team to develop new tools and processes for delivering products.

We take equality seriously.
