A Magic+Might Associate Project Manager is an enthusiastic problem solver who is prepared to engage at all levels of a project with a can-do mindset. S/he acts as a primary point of contact for day-to-day project needs, manages expectations of our internal team and is responsible for ensuring that project work is carried out as-scoped and on-time. This person must, above all, be organized, proactive, professional, flexible, and able to manage multiple projects at once. Beyond project management, they must be an evangelist for Magic+Might’s process and design methodology and must be tapped into each project’s strategic objectives.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Collaborating with studio leadership to define project scope, timing and deliverables, and the creation of statements of work and proposals
- Creating and managing project plans, collaborating with team leaders to execute
- Monitoring day-to-day activities of the project team and contractors, ensuring work is progressing as planned and tasks are clearly communicated, understood and executed upon
- Monitoring project risks and scope creep to foresee/identify potential problems, collaborating with team leaders to address these
- Managing project communications, including status and change orders, among clients, team members, contractors and studio leadership
- Managing project costs and budgets
- Planning, scheduling, setting agendas, etc. for a range of in-person meetings, from small work sessions to large research events, in collaboration with studio manager
- Overseeing timesheet and expense report completion for team members and contractors
- Collaborating with accounting to invoice clients on a timely basis
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1-3 years of experience in interactive/design/agency project management
- Ability to self-manage while managing teams and projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with project management practices and tools to create, manage, and track deliverables and scope
- Understanding and awareness of user-centered design methodologies and the product development process a plus
- Discretionary skill, ability to manage and maintain confidential information and discussions
- Superior verbal, written, client-facing and internal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and focus on task completion
- Competencies in Microsoft Office, Harvest, bug tracking (DoneDone, Trello, or similar) and related tools (Monday, Slack, etc.)
