What you get to do:
OppLoans’ Compliance Advisory Unit is responsible for ensuring all changes to products and processes that may impact consumers are appropriately vetted and reviewed for compliance implications prior to implementation. All such changes must be approved by the Compliance Advisory Unit before the changes are enacted. You will report directly to the Compliance Advisory Manager within the Compliance Department and will frequently have exposure to C-Level Executives.
- Prevent future compliance issues by reviewing business-proposed changes to processes and products by identifying any consumer compliance risks associated with the proposals before their implementation.
- Review requests will vary in complexity from updates to call center training to reviewing brand new product features and company-wide projects before rollout.
- Work with multiple business leaders in other departments, such as Product, Operations, Marketing, Credit, and Finance, to identify solutions that reduce identified compliance risk while minimizing business impact.
- Assess the material significance and relevance of identified compliance risks.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to less experienced members of the team.
- Take on and lead other projects purposed towards the prevention, detection, mitigation, or assessment of regulatory risk as assigned.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- A Compliance Generalist background with 2+ years of experience in a consumer compliance-oriented role at one or several companies that offered installment loans or credit cards; preferably in a compliance advisory or issue management function.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations and binding industry rules; UDAAP, ECOA, EFTA, CARD, E-SIGN, FCRA, FDCPA, GLBA, MLA, SCRA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, BSA, U.S. Bankruptcy Code, PCI, and NACHA.
- Assess processes and procedures in light of relevant compliance requirements.
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL.
- .Data analysis skills.
- Navigate different types of personalities and business environments.
- Experience identifying areas of opportunity and improvement.
- CRCM certificate preferred
