The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced and energetic Compliance Program Manager to join OppLoans’ expanding and dynamic Compliance Department. This role will report directly to the Director of Compliance Assurance
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Director of Compliance and the CCO in implementing our Compliance Management System and Compliance Risk Management Framework.
- Manage and run OppLoans’ employee and Board Compliance training program, including all content development, communications, tracking, reporting, and training events.
- Organize and manage monthly company-wide Compliance meetings, brown-bag and other continuing education events.
- Organize and manage annual policy/procedure reviews.
- Organize and manage annual risk assessment process.
- Organize and create appropriate content for new Compliance employee on-boarding.
- Assist in carrying out Compliance functions, as needed, such as monitoring and testing, external audit oversight, examinations, BSA/AML investigations, vendor management, complaints, issue management, and risk assessments.
- Develop and demonstrate functional or proficient working knowledge of the prudential, financial crimes, and consumer lending regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act; USA Patriot Act; Equal Credit Opportunity Act; Truth In Lending Act; Fair Lending; Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices Act; Service members Civil Relief Act and their implementing Regulations as well as other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3+ years relevant experience, preferably in consumer finance or fintech company. Experience at a high-growth start-up is preferred.
- Interest in learning or expanding knowledge of consumer financial regulations, including Truth in Lending Act and Regulation Z, Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Regulation B, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Unfair Deceptive and Abusive Acts or Practices, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Electronic Funds Transfer Act (Regulation E), Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN), NACHA Operating Rules and Guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills; detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Excellent problem resolution skills.
- Excellent skills in EXCEL, PowerPoint, JIRA. SQL abilities a plus.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with an attention to detail.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships, working with all levels with both internal and external customers. Enthusiasm for learning new things and taking on new projects.
- Ability to multitask as well as assess and change priorities.
- Ability to work well individually, and in a team structure.
- A passion for improving the lives of consumers through OppLoans products.
- Humility, integrity and a killer sense of humor; you take your work seriously, but not yourself.
