What you’ll do in this role:
The Director of Project Management is responsible for the overall implementation and project management function here at Strata, providing leadership, management and innovation around our project management tools and methodology. This leadership role partners with their team of high performing project managers to drive successful implementations through strong relationship building, effective tools & processes, proactive tracking and management of project status, and effective communication with clients and internal leadership alike. The Director must be a strategic leader with strong project operations experience and ready to enable the growth of Strata Decision Technology.
- Provides strategic leadership and direction to the organization related to implementation project management methods, tools and processes
- Hire, train and manage team of 10-15 Implementation Project Managers
- Continually improve and transform implementation and project management processes, staffing, and productivity to embrace best practices and deliver customer success on every project
- Develop and uphold quality standards for project management
- Coach and develop consulting, project management, budget management, communication, diplomacy and client escalation management skills across the team. Create environment where team members are encouraged to take ownership and reasonable, informed risks
- Partner with Business Development team to ensure smooth transition from sales to service
- Partner with operations leadership team to improve tools, workplans, processes for software implementations
- Drive resolution of issues through intervention and management of escalations
- Use project portfolio management tools, executive and project dashboards, reporting and analytics to ensure predictable project success and outcomes.
- Create the source of truth for implementation status and risks for all projects
- Track, monitor and actively support the management of projects, risks, issues and dependencies
- Understand StrataJazz platform and partner with solution leaders to coach/advise on project risks and challenges
- Supports implementation project managers and implementation teams to ensure projects are delivered with scope, within goals and deliverables, within budget and aligned with statement of work commitments
Your accomplishments include:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required. Master’s degree and/or project management certifications preferred
- 10+ years of related work experience, including leadership experience in project managing software implementations
- 5+ years of experience leading and managing professional project teams in a proactive, strategic and thoughtful manner
- Ability to lead through the ambiguity associated with working in a dynamic, fast-paced, high growth organization
- Ability to explain and simplify complex ideas
- Passion for coaching, managing, and developing people
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, high emotional intelligence
- Self-motivated, strong sense of ownership, assertive follow-through, and a passion for the highest level of client satisfaction
