We are looking for someone to analyze, coordinator and perform operations tasks in our Software Engineering team.

Join a successful team of Scrum Masters and Operational leaders within Software Engineering. 

As an Associate Scrum Master of Engineering Operations, you will support multiple Scrum Masters by learning, growing and applying Agile / Scrum principles with a focus on operational excellence.  You will also support Engineering Operations solutions, reporting and tracking.

This position can be located in St. Louis, Chicago or Austin

What You Will Do

As an Associate with Ascension Technologies, you will have the opportunity to learn technical expertise as a Scrum Master supporting our Software Engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive resolution, coordinate, analyze and track Operations tasks (staffing, onboarding, contracts, financials, service model, etc. to ensure deliverables are met on time

  • Coordinate with other teams, as required, such as HR, Finance, Help Desk, Contracting, Scrum, Incident, etc.

  • Supports Operations, Program and Strategy leadership by creating or providing data to creation operational documents, reports, presentations, analysis or goal tracking

  • Supports Scrum Masters in planning, ceremonies, building out tools

  • Learn best practices for Scrum ceremonies, Agile / Scrum tools and processes

  • Understand risk tracking, reporting and perform analysis and coordination

  • Support dynamic and fast paced Scrum teams and can embrace change

  • Recognize, follow up and escalates pending Scrum and Operational issues

  • Willingness to learn or enhance Agile / Scrum knowledge and capabilities

  • As skills grow, facilitate ceremonies for 1-2 small Scrum teams

  • Other analytical, operational, technical coordination, Agile/Scrum duties, as assigned

 

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 1-3 years of experience in coordinating Operations activities

  • 1-2 years experience in analyzing data and documenting trends and findings required

  • Good knowledge and understanding of Agile and Scrum concepts and fundamentals

  • 1+ years of knowledge, training or experience in Agile and Scrum processes

  • Experience providing coordination, identify obstacles and drive to resolution

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

 

Desired Experience:

  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance techniques

  • Experience in working with Product and technical teams

  • Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, Slack and other collaboration tools

  • Knowledge of HR, financial and GSuite

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum ceremonies

Education:

  • Computer Science Bachelor's degree or degree in related field of study preferred

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) desired or willingness to achieve within one year of hire

What You Will Need

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.

Work Experience:

  • 3 years of experience preferred.
