JOIN OUR TEAM

As a Project Manager at NextCapital, you will create and own the program plans that keep our enterprise customers aligned and focused on the future. You will collaborate with the Relationship Manager, executive sponsors, cross-functional leads, and, most importantly, our customers to stitch together the opportunities and cross-functional workstreams to create a cohesive operating framework. At NextCapital, onboarding is just a starting point. As a partner to our customers, you’re a key piece in unlocking the solution and market strategies that will deliver better outcomes for their end customers, and ultimately to individuals. We’re disrupting a market, so we need strong program management to leverage best practices while encouraging iteration and learning.

What does that really mean? You will be an active participant in our customers’ ultimate success. Not only can you build and update a dynamic project plan with ease, but you understand the moving parts and possess the soft skills required to sense if we are on track to hitting our shared vision for the future. There is a reason we associate you with a customer for its lifetime: you are not there to deliver something and leave; you are the glue that keeps all of the moving parts together and grounds us through capacity planning, dependency management, and prioritization. You lay out a foolproof structure to manage customer-specific deliverables. Within a customer relationship, you are our communications guru: you understand the assumptions, the scope, and when to raise your hand when things drift. You know how to build a plan, and you consistently look at it critically to keep everyone aligned.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Drive key decisions and be a major player on 2-3 multi-million dollar enterprise partnerships
  • From the point of sale, develop, structure, and maintain program and project plans that represent specific customer goals
  • Ensure all team members understand the project goals, desired outcomes and their role in achieving those outcomes
  • Identify changes to scope and absorb, track, and communicate changes
  • Lead customer and internal project communication to manage expectations of timing and deliverables
  • As needed, work under compressed timelines and the associated pressure, both internal and external, that comes along those compressed timelines
  • Provide internal and external status updates regularly to maintain alignment with progress to goals
  • Coordinate and track work across multiple teams, across time zones, and in collaboration with functional team work management practices
  • Engage internal leaders and subject matter experts, as appropriate, to promote success for the engagement and the customer
  • Maintain product expertise across NextCapital’s offerings
  • Continue to inform and evolve our project management best practices at NextCapital

WHERE THIS ROLE MAY LEAD YOU

  • Opportunities to grow into practice focused roles to evolve our program management methodologies
  • Senior project management role on complex programs with increased scope and strategic accountability
  • Cross-functional movement into other Customer Success, Business Development, and Product Management roles

Requirements

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years in Project Management
  • 2+ years of experience managing SaaS product implementation projects
  • Experience in a customer facing role and a passion for working directly with customers to deliver the best possible outcomes
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle with an enthusiasm for technology and demonstrated technical aptitude
  • Capacity for planning to the extreme, yet gracefully pivoting when evolving goals and priorities inspire change
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with multiple audiences, including executive stakeholders
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams while balancing multiple, complex projects at the same time
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet or equivalent project management software
  • Ability to travel to customer sites for in-person planning sessions (quarterly basis at most)

  • Relax with monthly, company wide, guided meditation sessions
  • Participate in women in tech events and service days at local organizations
