Responsibilities

The Field Quality Manager in this role can be based in Illinois, North Carolina, or Georgia

 

 

The Field Quality Manager in this role will travel (up to 75%) to customers in the northeast, mid-Atlantic, and southeast United States. This role is responsible for executing the HAVI field quality strategy—ensuring that packaging provides the required level of performance and functionality to meet restaurant and consumer demands for our largest customer. In this exciting, fast-paced role, you will spend the majority of your time in the field, communicating, interacting, and building strong relationships with HAVI customers at many levels to learn their business and structure and apply your packaging quality expertise. Additional responsibilities:

  • Assess packaging performance, respond to packaging issues using HAVI protocol, and assist with new product launches
  • Build strong rapport with new and existing customers and suppliers in the field
  • Manage quality-related communications in assigned region
  • Support packaging innovation concepts  
  • Domestic travel including local and/or overnight up to 75%
  • Perform field surveys of finished product in the restaurants throughout assigned region to ensure all products conform to predetermined standards and specifications
  • Establish and grow relationships with stakeholders (owner/operators, regional staff, and relevant partners) and be the primary communication link for quality assurance issues  
  • Act as our customer’s quality resource and advisor for assigned region 
  • Act as lead voice in planning field quality team objectives and strategy

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Willingness and ability to travel locally within region US Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast up to 75% (including overnights)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging or related field (or relevant experience)
  • 5 years of experience in packaging quality assurance and/or design
  • Field quality experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, relationship-management skills, and business acumen are essential
  • Business travel experience
  • Experience working remotely and independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Excellent time-management skills, including travel
  • Understanding of continuous improvement techniques
  • Positive approach to solving business challenges overcoming obstacles
  • Ability to understand the unique needs of restaurant staff and owners
  • Ability to be objective and report unbiased data
  • Flexibility in approach based on needs of internal and external customers 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a changing environment and deal with ambiguity
