About Us

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is the largest equity derivatives clearing organization in the world.  We provide central counterparty clearing and settlement services for equity options, futures, options on futures, and securities lending transactions.  We serve approximately 115 clearing members and 15 exchanges including CBOE, Nasdaq, and NYSE.

What You’ll Do

 

You’ll be working alongside experts that are building OCC’s next generation clearing, settlement, and risk systems; and paving the future of digital transformation in the capital markets industry. This initiative, named Renaissance, is a top priority for the firm. Job requirements include:

  • Formulate a Renaissance technology plan to integrate the various pillars of the Renaissance initiative (eg clearing, data, risk).
  • Work with senior business and technology leads to incorporate business and technology requirements to define a plan to achieve demonstrable and incremental business value.
  • Work closely with security to ensure that security requirements are incorporated into development, integration and integration testing.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture to ensure that implementations follow defined systems architecture.
  • Partner with enabling teams in the firm such as cloud infrastructure, production support and tooling to ensure their requirements as well as solutions are leveraged appropriately.
  • Coordinate program wide integrated deliverables partnering with the business, technology and PMO functions, ensuring that they are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Recommend technologies and tools that improve the efficiency and quality of OCC’s systems and development processes.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 4+ years of work experience in the capital markets industry. Experience in derivatives preferred.
  • Experience working at a derivatives CCP required. Understanding of CCP’s and CCP business models required.
  • Experience with financial data constructs including instruments, market data, positions, transactions, accounts etc required.
  • Experience with financial transaction and trade processing and related business and technical implementations required
  • Experience with risk processing and analytics required. Integration of quant libraries and knowledge of counterparty credit risk, Monte Carlo simulations a plus.
  • Knowledge of derivatives margin calculations and reporting preferred.
  • Ability to design large scale CI/CD pipelines across multiple workstreams, environments and teams.
  • Ability to manage and lead integrated deliverables across the Renaissance effort in an influencer role with matrixed responsibilities.
  • Experience in Agile and especially large scale Agile programs required. Scaled Agile Framework (SaFE) knowledge preferred.
  • Experience in JIRA and related tools for Agile project planning and tracking
  • Past experience leading development functions required.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate planning sessions with senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

 

Technical Skills:

  • CI/CD tool familiarity including Jenkins, Harness, Artifactory, Veracode, Blackduck, SonarCube.
  • Implementation of automated testing frameworks at the unit, QA, UAT and prod parallel levels.
  • Experience working with the  following: Public-cloud platforms/AWS Unix/Linux environments, event-driven systems, transaction processing systems, high performance computing, distributed and parallel systems, large software system development, security software development.
  • Experience with high speed distributed computing frameworks a plus eg - AWS EMR, Hadoop, HDFS, S3, MapReduce, Kubernetes, Mesos, Apache Spark, Apache Hive, Kafka Streams, Apache Flink, Apache Beam etc.
  • Experience with distributed data stores Eg - HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, AWS Dynamo DB etc.
  • Experience with some messaging frameworks. Eg- Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Amazon Kinesis, etc.
  •  

 

Education and/or Experience:
