As an extension of an established measurement system for financial health, the Financial Health Network is developing a series of products that enable institutions to measure the financial health of their customers, employees, or communities, and benchmark it over time, against their peers and the U.S. population.

We're seeking an individual who is passionate about financial health and has experience driving successful products to launch. They will expand our impact to new institutions, providing insights and support for the financial health of millions of Americans. They will have a foundation role in shaping the team, leading the strategy, and building this new venture. They will be able to synthesize complex ideas into clear plans, adapt to challenges, and be a world-class communicator to partners across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Head of Product will build and lead Financial Health Network’s product team and is essential to progress against our mission of improving financial health for all. Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, they manage the development and day-to-day implementation of our product development process.  Responsibilities include:

Product Development

  • Own and champion the vision for a suite of products designed to help companies understand and improve financial health outcomes for consumers and small businesses
  • Develop the strategy and lead planning for the entire product lifecycle
  • Integrate usability studies, research, and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction

Leadership

  • Lead the development of product and engineering teams, setting culture and tone, contributing to daily processes, and coaching team members
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, including engineering, to develop and integrate products into our mission-focused portfolio of services
  • Provide leadership and guidance on technology-related issues to the leadership team, colleagues, and partners

Technical Management

  • Oversee the planning and activities of an onshore engineering team, including helping to establish the necessary product and technical culture aligned with the rest of the organization
  • Write and deliver product requirement documents that are understandable and usable by a variety of partners

Product Quality

  • Provide for an exceptional user experience, continually focusing on improving functionality, usability, and outcomes
  • Deliver operational excellence, establishing relevant metrics and processes for continuous improvement

LOCATION

We have office locations in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, or Washington DC.  Remote candidates will be considered.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A dedication to Financial Health Network’s mission
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Product Management
  • Outstanding organizational, project and time management skills with strong attention to detail and deadlines
  • Deeply analytical mind and metric driven approach
  • Strong technical background
  • Experience and success working cross-functionally between organizational departments, particularly engineering
  • Ability to work, and thrive, in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment.
  • A passion for creating clarity for others and communicating complex ideas simply
  • Experience in consumer financial services is desired (though not required)
  • Experience in a start-up environment is an advantage
  • Experience working with B2B2C products is an advantage

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree required, Graduate/Master’s is a plus.
