What You'll Bring
You have a bachelor's degree or higher. (An equivalent combination of education and prior work experience may be substituted at the discretion of management.). Incumbents will have relevant knowledge of regulatory or procedural compliance issues and the ability to apply them within an operations environment. This enables you to provide the right advice and guidance for the business to implement regulatory initiatives, policies and procedures.
You have a minimum of seven years of relevant work experience as compliance a professional, preferably in the healthcare industry.
You have three years of relevant experience with healthcare trends and issues, healthcare privacy, healthcare financial management - including charity care, insurance and Medicaid coverage, claims and billing compliance the revenue cycle, encounter data management, claims, U.S. health policy & politics, and implications for compliance programs, healthcare organization and administration, and emerging trends in healthcare compliance. Having relevant understanding of the critical compliance processes that exist in the healthcare industry, enables you to problem-solve, provide solutions, and mitigate risks.
You should be detail-oriented and have the ability to review and analyze information and processes.
You will be charged with, under limited supervision, making sure that the company adheres to relevant laws, rules, policies and processes. To that end, you must be/become well-versed in consumer rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and related rules, policies, processes, problems and resources.
You must also be able to decipher information of key issues and risks, determine and communicate the compliance requirements, policies and guidelines applicable to the business, as you evaluate new or enhanced product initiatives.
You are analytical and detail-oriented, with excellent project management skills. You enjoy a team-based culture that values strong communication and interpersonal skills, sound judgment, curiosity, and adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
You have strong logical, problem solving and decision-making abilities.
You possess excellent PC skills.
You have, or have the willingness to seek, certification as a qualified healthcare compliance professional preferred (e.g. Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) via the Compliance Certification Board (CCB)/Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE))..

We are driven by a belief that information can help advance our industry, improve patient engagement, and ultimately increase the effectiveness of the healthcare system.
TransUnion is seeking a compliance professional to participate in risk management activities, including risk assessments as well as oversight of activities related to TransUnion’s Healthcare products, services and operations. You will help ensure adherence to all applicable rules and regulations, including FCRA, GLBA and HIPAA.
Contributor to, and reviewer of, policy statements. Ensure the implementation of TransUnion’s operational policies and procedures and will provide appropriate guidance, education, training, and regular communications to employees.
Participate in cross-functional business teams and special projects as the need arises related to healthcare compliance provisions or processes.
Conduct periodic compliance risk assessment and support business remediation as necessary; risk assessment includes validation of HIPAA & privacy standards, PHI handling, accountabilities and outcomes; implement testing and monitoring program.
Participate in audits (both internal and external), including assisting in coordination and preparation.
Provide oversight and guidance to the business to close gaps identified during audits, assessments, issue management, testing and monitoring.
Participate in product reviews from idea generation to implementation.
Keep informed of current laws, rules, regulatory requirements, and best practices within healthcare compliance.
