West Monroe Partners is seeking a Network and Platform Architect with expertise in network and platform design, architecture, engineering, strategy, and deployment. Consultants will be responsible for working directly with multiple clients in various industries as a member of our Cloud and Infrastructure Practice here at West Monroe Partners.
What will you be doing?
* Perform assessments of existing client infrastructure environments and document "as-is" state
* Organize project work into client presentations, outlining findings and recommendations for C-level executives
* Work with clients to develop strategy around infrastructure platforms (server, storage, and public cloud) and telecommunications
* Engaging with industry teams, including our Mergers and Acquisitions practice, on technology due diligence and potentially serving as infrastructure lead for integration and separation projects
* Interact with key decision makers (CIO, IT Directors, etc) at our clients to drive projects
* Plan, organize, and manage infrastructure-related work streams or projects
Technologies you’ll be assessing
* Networking, both WAN, LAN, Internet, MPLS, VPN, SDWAN and configuration associated with Layer 2 switching (VLANs, STP, vPC, LACP), Layer 3 routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), Network Security (ACLs, NATs, IPsec VPNs, SSL remote access VPNs), and telephony
* Hybrid Cloud implementations, either in AWS VPCs or Azure VNETs via either VPN or dedicated circuits (ExpressRoute or Direct Connect)
* Infrastructure security and vulnerability tools, including firewalls, antivirus, PEN testing, OS patching, (Cisco IOS, ASA, Nexus, Meraki, Palo Alto, FortiGate, Juniper)
* Data Center Facilities for on-premises, colocation, managed service and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
* Data Center Hardware including, servers, virtualization software and storage platforms
* Operating Systems for servers, workstations and mobile devices
* High availability and disaster Recovery designs, data replication, supplemental power systems
* Management and Monitoring tools to support asset management, performance management, monitoring and support
* Backup and Retention tools for both on-premises hardware and cloud based backup systems
* Domain Architectures and Authentication Services (Microsoft AD, single sign on methods)
* Collaboration tools for email, instant messaging, productivity tools, intranets, team sites)
* Workstations, mobile devices, and peripheral hardware (PC, Tablets, Smart Phones, other)
* Telephony Systems, Digital, Analog, IP phones, voicemail, call centers, SIP, POTS, and other circuits
* Policies, procedures, documentation, support levels and more
Deliverables you’ll be providing
* Develop detailed network designs in the following areas: on-premises data (LAN, WAN, Data Center), Cloud (AW S, Azure), and Network Security (Firewalls, IDS/IPS)
* Advising, planning, and implementing datacenter orchestration solutions (Cisco ACI, VMware NSX)
* Assessing, advising and recommending (current state, future state, and projects to address short comings)
We need someone who has prior professional services experience working with:
* All aspects of assessing, building, managing and administering both corporate and product infrastructures
What else do you need to bring to the table?
* 5 + years of experience designing, building, and deploying infrastructure solutions
* 5 + years of consulting experience is preferred
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field
* Willingness to travel for out-of-town client engagements, at least 50%.
