Summary

The IT Project Manager will assist in on-going development and management of our client’s Business Systems Project Management Office (PMO). This resource will be responsible for ensuring that all project materials, methods, and deliverables conform to client, company, industry, and contractual standards, specifications, and requirements.

The IT Project Manager will be responsible for working with our client and other client vendor project managers to manage the on-going development and delivery of PMO services, client projects, and all associated deliverables.  This position will provide project management oversight and support for all project life cycle phases of client projects, including, but not limited to  Client Application/System QA testing oversight and management; Project related on-boarding and off-boarding of SDI and SDI sub-contracting resources; Client and SDI Management status reporting; SOP/SLA development and reporting, Client and SDI vendor management; and other duties that support the successful execution of our client’s technology program.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage to client PMO processes and standards in support of  client project managers, project management processes, and client standards
  • Oversee and direct execution of software and hardware implementation projects from project initiation to close 
  • Work with client departments to estimate, plan, and procure, project resources software, and hardware
  • Coordinate and direct consultant and vendor project work and track all project deliverables through delivery
  • Review contracts related to projects and understand the scope of work
  • Provide feedback for SDI project team members on performance
  • Proactively communicates with and seeks feedback from customers on how SDI can maintain/improve customer satisfaction
  • Plan, coordinate, lead, and document client system testing efforts for client projects
  • Manage client vendor quality assurance systems, including establishing and tracking issues corrective actions, customer complaints, audit processes, standard operating procedures, test methods, and process control systems
  • Coordinate system and hardware deployments across multiple client departments

Requirements

  • 12+ years of project management experience on enterprise level software implementation projects using iterative and incremental processes which used SDLC, ITIL, and PMI best practices
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a like discipline and previous work experience
  • PMP certification
  • Previous consulting experience
  • Expert knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Project, the Microsoft Office suite, and Microsoft SharePoint for project tracking, communication, and resource management
  • Strong organizational, communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, problem solving, and multi-tasking skillsets
  • Ability to lead cross-functional and multi-vendor teams in a weak matrix organization
  • Demonstrated project management skills to include stakeholder management, change management, risk and issue management, and schedule management
  • Knowledge and competency in the project schedule building process, including techniques for estimation, developing contingency and management reserve, PERT, CPM and critical Path management
  • Experience leading large, complex system integration efforts or large software application projects
  • Experience with creation and execution of test plans and oversight of vendor test phases
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals in English

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the following areas is preferred:
    • Managing IT projects in a government environment serving as trusted advisers to government executives
    • Leading SAP Finance based projects or SAP development experience
    • Managing employees (including subcontractors) of various labor categories and skills
    • HP Quality Center or Service Now
    • Working with offshore teams
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of the typical RFP process from the initial solution scope, to RFI, RFP, evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, contract administration and closeout
  • Ability to learn customer service and Financial customized software
  • Certification in any of the following a plus: CSM, CSP, SEI’s CMM, Six Sigma, Microsoft’s MSF, Java, BEA WebLogic
