Department OverviewThe Software Enterprise Deployment and Integration team is the team that delivers solutions to the public safety sector. We are committed to providing technology and tools which will allow customers to focus on their mission, and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. We deploy and support products such as Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management Systems, Jail Management Systems and Mobile Data Computing, among other offerings.
Job Description

Candidates based in New York or a surrounding state are highly preferred.

Seeking a qualified self-starter to join our NYC NG9-1-1 team as an Implementation Manager. 

As part of our project team, the candidate will create detailed plans to implement complex systems and solutions. The candidate will lead the implementation team from the design phase all the way to roll out and monitoring. The candidate will have a great understanding of the Customer’s requirements per the contract, and will liaise between different internal technical department stakeholders and the field team. This is a senior-level position, and our ideal applicant has considerable professional experience in a technical role with hand-on public safety deployments. The candidate needs to have the proven capability to lead teams and manage multiple groups.

  • The candidate will leverage their technical expertise in public safety deployments through all phases of the project to ensure implementation of the project meets or exceeds Customer’s expectation. 

  • Able to jump in as an individual contributor, but also manage this critical part of the project through design, staging, verification and transition to maintenance and support

  • Partner with a high functioning team and customer partners to implement a best in class emergency call handling system

  • Value is placed on process, results and customer satisfaction. Success is defined by excellence in each

  • You will be expected to communicate with executives and engineers with ease

  • Establish trusted partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Manage a team of installers to perform detailed implementation of communication system solutions and services which satisfy the requirements of the customer, end users and operator

  • Coordinate with the Customer Operations Team to build and execute a seamless migration plan

  • Schedules and oversees the installation of products

  • Work with the Project Management Scheduling team to incorporate the necessary activities and dependencies into the Integrated Master Schedule

  • Ensures adherence to contract specifications and established policies and procedures

  • Support of update of system ‘as built’ documentation

  • Build Customer relationships; presenting technical solution to Customer, conducting technical negotiations with Customers, partners and suppliers and providing Customer technical consultations, advice and review as well as technical documentation as per the Contract requirements

  • Provide technical support and consultations for / with the System Integration Centers and clarification of technical issues with the Customer, third parties and within Motorola Solutions

  • Provide 3rd party management for ordering, installation and integration, documentation, quality management and acceptance testing, technical change management

  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and (on-site) Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), while coordinating all technical aspects of the acceptance testing

  • Work with product groups to ensure equipment is available to meet project timescale

  • Provide technical support during all project phases

  • Attend customer meetings, status updates, project reporting etc

Qualifications:

  • A seasoned professional having wide-ranging experience - uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - must be comfortable with public speaking and developing relationships across all levels of the enterprise

  • Effective leadership and delegation abilities

  • Outstanding time management skills – should be able to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience with managing a team and dealing with personnel issues a plus

  • Effective leadership and delegation abilities

  • BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and related work experience

  • Enterprise IT or large scale infrastructure deployment experience

  • Large scale systems integration management


Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Field Engineer in the company or a comparable company.

  • Minimum 5 years hands on experience in successfully troubleshooting complex network issues on IP and Ethernet networks, network peering, dynamic routing protocols and spanning tree

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in implementing IP systems; or at least 5 years of hands on experience in designing, configuring and maintaining mid-large enterprise IP networks that peer with multiple network providers in a redundant manner


Basic Requirements

  • At least 5 years of Enterprise IT or large scale infrastructure deployment and systems integration management experience
