Motorola Solutions is a world leader in the field of professional mobile communications systems with an impressive heritage of technological innovations and a global base of installed systems. The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Petrochem and Utilities Communications customers.
Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Schedule personnel for and track progress of above contract projects, mobile and Fixed Network Equipment (FNE) installs.

  • Participate in large project meetings, understand the project scope of work and task responsibilities.

  • Schedule personnel for and track progress of efforts to program and/or configure multiple portables, mobiles, dispatch consoles, and other types of customer equipment.

  • Travel as needed to the customer and/or vendor sites to participate in troubleshooting, equipment deliveries and site walks related to projects.

  • Some overnight and out-of-state travel may be required.

  • Adhere to all Motorola and customer safety requirements and regulations while on job sites. Wear and maintain all safety equipment including but not limited to hardhats, safety toe footwear, high visibility apparel, fire and arc resistant clothing, fall protection harnesses, etc.

  • Work with Sales, PM, Engineering, FSO, ST, and Customer resources to coordinate installation efforts.

  • Keep detailed and up-to-date documentation of timeline of activities and progress.

  • Ensure all aspects of the installation are performed per best practices and R56 Standards and Guidelines.

  • Work with the team to generate and provide quotes for installation work.

  • Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results.

  • Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades or support issues.

  • Team with engineering, project management and sales personnel to effectively maintain, optimize and support advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Understand customer work ticket system, incident management, problem management and change management procedures.

  • Interact with the customer Network Operations Center and update customer Service Manager tickets.

  • Understand the various Service Manager ticket requests and work with Motorola Sales team to provide quotes to the customer.

  • Understand Utility industry standards; FERC, NERC, NRC.

  • Understand the customer organization, service area, facility locations and functions of each business center.

Other Tasks:

  • Responsible for timely and accurate reporting in time tracking systems each week

  • Responsible for proper care and maintenance of all assigned company assets.

  •  Responsible for processing all expense reports within the Motorola Solutions Guidelines.

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

  • Some type of training/certification in the Project Management field

  • Valid driver's license

  • Able to use a computer and be familiar with common computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and internet browsers

  • Able to work as a member of a team which includes individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences

  • Good verbal and written communications skills

  • Detail oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy

  • Strong ability to multitask

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Proven experience as a project supervisor or relevant role

  • Familiarity with project management procedures and basic accounting principles

  • Ability to publicly speak and/or give formal presentations to peers, management, and/or customers

Salary range - $55,000-$75,000
