Department OverviewThe North America Systems Integration (SI) Operations team partners with Motorola Solutions’ field organizations to drive best practices in project management and project accounting. This team strives to optimize portfolio performance by providing key metrics and analysis to the regional leaders and project managers they support. Administration and implementation of business processes and tools to maximize business effectiveness is our core responsibility.
Job Description

Provide proactive operational guidance, analysis and support to the regional SI director. Responsible for analysis of all financial and operational aspects of a complex customer portfolio, including planning, scheduling, forecasting, risk management, project execution, tracking and reporting progress.
You will support a team of dedicated project managers, engineers and technicians in a challenging business environment. Work within a matrixed organization to maximize customer satisfaction and business performance. Partner with the SI field team, finance, technical staff and third-party contributors to exceed customer expectations from kick-off through design, build and transition to maintenance and support.
Implement best practices and processes supporting PM tools (schedule, critical path analysis, budget, change order, risk assessment, action item log, etc). Analyze complex issues and develop solutions to meet the business needs of the territory. Contribute new ideas to improve the operational efficiency and performance of your assigned region.
Monitor portfolio statistics to minimize total portfolio costs utilizing time phased budgets. Ensure timely invoicing of billing milestones to meet cash flow targets.
Responsibilities:
Optimize the delivery of Motorola Solutions products or services.
Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgraded existing products or services.
Monitors territory portfolio performance from inception to completion (or transition).
Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and within accepted quality metrics.
Participates in project review and status meetings, and communicates project status.
Utilizes six sigma and project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness.
Monitors project portfolio statistics to ensure optimal performance.
May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.
Demonstrates awareness of all nine areas of PMBOK project management, PRINCE2, or applicable PM standard with a firm understanding of two.
Has knowledge of at least one major project phase.
Contributes to the development of the project best practices.
Contributes to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives.
Prepares reports for upper management regarding the status of the portfolio.
Additional Skills:
Experience with at least one of the following: Public Safety communications systems, Cellular infrastructure, Military communications, Civil construction or IT Networks
Proficient in Microsoft Office (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint & Project)
Planview experience a plus.
PM Masters Certificate a plus. PMP highly desired. PMP and/or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
Understanding of two way radio / cellular infrastructure communications products, services, and systems is a plus.
Understanding of local public safety customers, such as police, fire, and emergency medical services is a plus.
Must be a self motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives.
Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills
May live anywhere in the US with access to a major airport
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of project management experience
- OR 5+ years of project/program management or engineering experience
