Project Manager, Research Operations
The Role: Research Operations has an open Project Manager position. The role entails managing projects of varying sizes and complexity within the Research Group with a focus on manager selection, ongoing oversight, and client deliverables. The role also may involve helping support the operations of the equity and manager research analysts. The position is based in the Chicago office.
Responsibilities
- Define and manage new research projects that can include new or redesigned research reports, changes to selection and oversight methodologies, evaluation of existing methodologies, or incorporating new data points.
- Track and report on the status of projects within the Morningstar Project Management Framework.
- Support the ongoing operations of the manager selection team in Manager Research including coverage, publishing, and report design and production.
- Coordinate activities of the selection team with Data, Design, and Technology.
- Become familiar with the systems and toolkit that support our analyst teams: Quickbase, Research Publishing System, Direct.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three to five years of project management and/or business analyst experience.
- Excellent communication, time management/organization, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Comfort in dealing with ambiguity, ability to create focus and keep the team focused on business objectives.
- Familiarity with Morningstar research, data, and products is strongly preferred.
