Project Manager, Technology M&A
The Role
The Project Manager, Technology M&A plays a critical role in Green Thumb’s ongoing growth through M&A activity. This role is the bridge between our newly acquired businesses to our Technology and IT Operations team and is the primary point-of-contact for the oversight of onboarding and integrating the IT components to GTI best practices, infrastructure and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Key responsibilities will also include developing transition plans and collaborating with key stakeholders within the business, especially on the Technology team, to deliver results that are consistent and compliant with internal controls. Most importantly, this role must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving business and operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and refinement of IT processes related to acquisitions
- Conduct thorough technology assessments of our newly acquired businesses, including hardware, software, network, website, security, data, infrastructure and areas of risk and priorities
- Collaborate with key business stakeholder, which include internal department (Technology), external clients, and cross-functional teams (ex. Legal, HR, Accounting, M&A and Retail/Production Ops) to set an integration plan based on assessment
- Provide recommendations for timeline of activities based on business impact and benefit, in collaboration with the IT Security Manager and IT Operations team
- Establish project teams, oversee timelines, assign responsibilities, and facilitate meetings to ensure timely goal attainment of any changes
- Drive completion of required tasks, whether from internal team or cross-functional business partners, to stay on target within the expected timeline
- Provide continuous updates to all stakeholders regarding all M&A efforts and current technology status
- Identify requirements for M&A technology tasks, such as migrating DNS domains, configuring Exchange/O365 environments, validating users in active directory, and network and hardware cutovers, to be completed by the IT Operations, IT Network, and IT Security teams
- Manage 3rd party IT vendors as required to complete technology cutover, including low voltage, network and infrastructure, and additional endpoint and hardware technicians
- Act as an on site resource during assessment and execution phases of the technology M&A process, including at the store turnover period
- Support or delegate support of technology cutover as required, including but not limited to connecting, configuring, and testing hardware, networking equipment, and other onsite endpoints
- Transition newly acquired sites to IT Support after cutover grace period and provide a playbook for acquired site’s technology landscape
- Perform organized handover activities to business partners to onboard new business and entities
- Act as the primary point-of-contact and liaison between all parties involved with acquisition and integration
- Maintain communication and continuity post-deployment of changes to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Assist with various special projects, new business initiatives and other ad hoc requirements on behalf of the IT Technology and M&A functions
- Assist with additional implementations, integrations, or other launches, including new technology acquisitions or other internal team driven initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
- 6-7+ years of management or technology consultant with project management experience, preferred
- Demonstrate strong understanding of M&A process, Digital Transformation, Infrastructure, Networking and Cybersecurity architectures
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
- Possesses a high level of critical thinking
- Proven success in juggling multiple priorities and projects
- Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
- High degree of intellectual curiosity, sense of urgency and accountability
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be able to act independently and execute required tasks, while escalating where appropriate
- Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb
- Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.
Working Conditions
- This role will be required to travel and work on-site in our production facilities, retail dispensaries, and various Corporate offices.

- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must possess valid driver’s license
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
