Job Summary
The Project Manager will oversee the cross-functional IT initiatives that will deliver a successful business outcome that is measurable. Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned initiatives and provide a single point of contact to the business stakeholders. Primary responsibility is in the delivery phase; support the business across multiple initiatives, analyzing reports, collaborating with cross-functional teams, monitoring process, and facilitating team meetings.
We are looking for someone who is highly inquisitive and curious. Knowledge of the industry is not as important as the demonstrated ability and willingness to proactively figure out and learn the process.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for supporting cross technical product level initiatives and success of assigned initiatives.
- Assess priorities against business value to ensure schedules are aligned to business priorities.
- Optimize results within resource and time constraints.
- Define release schedules, identify dependences, solutions to business problems, and provide updates as priorities and schedules change.
- Manage risk mitigation and contingency plans.
- Drive activities to achieve aligned goals.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, and status reports.
- Conduct necessary meetings and is responsible for schedule and status tracking.
- Conduct presentations regarding project status to cross functional IT teams and business stakeholders.
- Strong inter-personal skills including coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing, collaborating and developing of team members.
- Work on special initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- 7+ years of project leadership/management experience, having been involved in full life cycle projects.
- Experience in software development and/or systems engineering
- 7+ years’ experience of project and/or team leadership/management experience with IT projects
- Experience with Agile, RUP, Waterfall
- Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management, as well as the business and technical communities
- Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation abilities
- Demonstrated ability to be productive independently and/or as a team member
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications (MS Project Professional, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and others; (nice to have: MS Project Server, OneNote, Visio, SharePoint Administration, and others)
