Hyla Mobile is a rapidly growing company that provides Mobile Device technologies and services to Wireless Carriers and Consumer Electronics Retailers. Hyla’s goal is to transform the wireless ecosystem by enabling Carriers and Retailers to offer smartphone trade-in programs to their consumers.  Hyla manages these trade-in programs on behalf of the top brands in the wireless industry, including AT&T, Verizon, Best Buy, Google, and many others. 

We're now building a new team and Device Protection business by leveraging key assets of HYLA (e.g. mobile diagnostics, device processing, pricing/analytics, etc), paired with critical external expertise. 

 

Job Summary:

The Project Manager will perform a key role within our team by managing pilots and implementations for new distribution partners as well as the integration of new service partners (and generally keeping us on track with various work streams!).

The Project Manager will own multiple tracks simultaneously and will serve as a key interface with various partners for all activities related to pilot, integration, launch, onboarding, etc.  In addition, the Project Manager will also serve as the primary interface for Hyla’s cross-functional team of product managers, software engineers, and operations folks with the goal of leading the team through a seamless launch, integration, pilot, etc. 

Hyla’s Device Protection program is complex, leveraging a combination of internal and external partners.  Our end-to-end program is comprised of software deployments and integrations, logistics services, support services, reporting and more.  The successful Project Manager will become intimately familiar with every component of our programs and will guide the internal and external teams through every step of the implementation process. 

The ideal Project Manager will have experience delivering software integrations, managing software development, or delivering complex professional services.  The ideal Project Manager will be a cross-functional leader who excels at driving 10-15-person teams toward on-time and on-budget outcomes.

 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

In this role you will manage the project delivery and day-to-day activities of the Emerging Business Group. The successful candidate will be an articulate and proactive manager who measures success by the success of his or her projects.  You will manage the full spectrum of activities listed below:

  • Onboarding of partners and implementation of complex cross-functional projects
  • Serve as the primary interface for internal and external partners and guide them through the end-to-end process of a new program – whether initially a pilot, integration or launch. 
  • Confidently drive the internal execution of activities with your peers within Hyla, including our product managers, software developers, logistics managers, accounting managers, reporting & analytics managers, and factory operations managers. 
  • Manage all day-to-day activities of your project team.  You will be responsible for setting clear expectation with your peers, and then guiding them to deliver against those expectations.
  • Continually improve our processes to achieve better, faster, cheaper results. 
  • Execute all day-to-day tactics including planning, communication, risk identification and mitigation, compiling reports, and responding to partner/team requests.
  • Proactively identify and communicate project risks. 
  • Drive continuous improvements to our product and processes, which may include software enhancements, new features & functionality, new services, new channels, and pricing changes.

 

Desired Skills, Work Experience, and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Operations, or Engineering, or related fields
  • 5+ years relevant experience in a project management role
  • Certified Project Manager status (PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, CSM, etc.) is a significant plus
  • Comfortable working within both waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience delivering software implementations, partner/process integration, and/or logistics services (min of two, three is a plus).
  • Outstanding communication skills including verbal, written and listening skills. Proven success in creating and delivering impactful project plans, analysis and recommendations.
  • Outstanding organization and executional skills, with proven ability to plan and execute projects on-time and on-budget
  • Flexible, adaptable, self-starter. Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively & independently manage internal and external clients and projects
  • Familiarity with collaborative Project Management tools like JIRA, Basecamp, Trello, etc
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other Microsoft Office products
  • Eager to grow personally and take on new responsibilities
  • Strong team player, with proven ability to execute in a collaborative environment and marshal resources cross-functionally.
  • Decisive and authoritative, with the ability to command the respect of your cross-functional peers to ensure team execution.
