Job Overview:

  • Plan, schedule and control the movement of releases to test and Production environments
  • Deliver business value while ensuring the integrity of the Production environment is protected

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as the release facilitator:
    • Work across cross-function teams to ensure release code is deployed successfully to test and production environments
    • Own and manage the release runbook
    • Ensure proper testing and development practices are completed through testing phase and beyond
    • Act as gatekeeper of the test and production environment to ensure all changes meet the organizational standards
    • Perform reviews of QA defects and test plans
    • Document issues and escalate issues to the release manager discovered throughout release testing
    • Ensure the release progresses through each release phase gate on time
    • Ensure proper release documentation has been submitted by each team
  • Act as Change Manager:
    • Review change requests to ensure they meet SOX requirements
    • Escalate change conflicts to change owners and the release manager
    • Build out documentation around ServiceNow workflows and SOPs
  • Continuously improve release processes:
    • Track and report release KPIs
    • Work with shared service teams to gather feedback on release management
    • Identify gaps in current state and provide process improvement proposals
    • Assist with releases problem management
  • Ensure release processes are documented
    • Build out release templates
    • Ensure all release processes are documented 

Job Requirements:

  • 0-3 years
  • Software development life cycle experience using Agile, Scrum, or Kanban
  • Understanding of basic software development principles
  • Experience with SQL and .NET technologies
  • Basic source control understanding (Git, SVN, GitHub, etc.)
  • Preferred experience in ServiceNow, VersionOne, Quality Center, Confluence
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to create detailed and concise content, reporting, presentations, etc.
  • Exudes a positive attitude and supports and personifies department standards and initiatives
  • Flexible to evolve as department and company initiatives change
