The Retail Ops Special Projects Associate will work closely with the Director of Retail Operations to manage the launch and optimization of retail meal kits across Kroger divisions. This person will play a large role in growing the retail business across both fulfillment centers and 3rd parties
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Fully understand retail fulfillment processes from start to finish and identify areas for where Home Chef can streamline operations, reduce costs, or deploy new technologies
- Structure and define high-level direction into tactical plans to drive impact and value creation (e.g., determining how to improve throughput in production lines, developing actionable scorecards to drive accountability, optimize production processes to accommodate added complexity and volume)Identify needs and opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness in the end-to-end fulfillment process through on-site observation and cross-functional brainstorming sessions
- Build in Excel, impact and financial models to size impact against work streams, working comfortably with large data sets and top-down assumptions
- Adapt quickly and fluidly to rapidly changing projects and under dynamic conditions (e.g., piloting multiple solutions in a test-and-fail approach)Be solutions-oriented in challenging contexts with multiple stakeholders
- Work with and assist in management of 3rd parties to execute the Home Chef playbook
Qualifications:
- 2+ years at top-tier consulting firm or in strategic/operational role in fast-growing start-up or corporate environment
- Able to envision tactical solutions that will work in hands-on operational environments with ease
- Strong commitment to implementing solutions in operations that will create long-term value across the full business
- Excellent verbal and written communicator, with experience in giving structured and insight-led presentations to C-suite executives and hourly employees alike
- High aptitude for tightly organized planning and process management, and strong attention to detail
- Extremely independent and able to work to effectively without strong oversight
- Adaptive and flexible in a quick-changing, fast-growth environment, able to shift gears quickly and multi-task effectively under tight deadlines
- Willingness to pitch in and help at all levels of the organization, with a solutions-oriented, can-do mindset
- Results-oriented attitude; able to multi-task and get things done in a fast-paced environment
- Interpersonal skills to work with team members in both production and corporate environments
- Ability to think “outside-the-box” when identifying and recommending operational improvements
- Willing to travel up to 50%
