Scrum Master
We’re growing our PMO, and we’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Scrum Master to join our team of collaborative, proactive communicators.
You will serve as Scrum Master for two scrum teams at IAS, and work with those teams to improve the efficiency of our software development life cycle, as well as contribute to developing a company culture of ownership, transparency and respect. We’ve adopted SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) across all of our development teams, and need servant leaders who can help sustain this organizational transformation.
What you’ll do:
- Serve as Scrum Master for development scrum teams, including organizing and facilitating planning, stand-up, retrospective and demo meetings as well as ensuring that sprint documentation materials (such as the backlog, scrum board, etc) are maintained
- Provide expertise for your development scrum teams on Agile, Scrum and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), and advocate for appropriate best practices
- Drive clarity and alignment around deliverables, process, and execution paths for product development, infrastructure, and research projects
- Assist your scrum teams in resolving questions and blockers and wrangling what they need to excel
- Build effective relationships and communication across teams
- Represent your scrum teams at Scrum of Scrums meetings
- Lead your scrum teams in preparing for Program Increment (PI) planning events
- Participate in our Scrum Master Community of Practice and help us develop organizational standards and best practices
- Identify and proactively address issues contributing to lack of clarity or reduced efficiency across the organization
- Generally do anything necessary to ensure that your scrum teams are functioning as efficiently and effectively as possible to execute against highest value priorities
Who you are and what you have:
- Experience with the full software development cycle, as well as 2-7yrs experience serving as Scrum Master for development and teams
- Familiarity with big data technology, products, and development processes
- Experience tracking and communicating progress and risks, and removing and/or escalating impediments
- Proactive focus on outcome and getting results, with clear vision of what it takes to get projects done
- Focus on the big picture, even while managing multiple projects/teams and handling lots of details
- Willingness to be flexible and experiment in order to get the best result for each team, while also keeping with organizational standards
- Ability to constantly assess a situation or team holistically, and accurately diagnose what’s working and what’s causing problems
- People-oriented, knowing that success relies on people being able to successfully do their part of the work
- Excellent, respectful, and nuanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate diplomatically and with sensitivity while still “telling it like it is”
- Empathy to assess critical information from different parties with different interests and perspectives, and to lead productive negotiations
- Experience leading through influence
What puts you over the top:
- Experience in Ad Tech
- Past engineering and/or product management experience
- Experience working with Data Science teams
- Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
- Experience working with JIRA
- Experience with Emotional Intelligence, Mindfulness, Nonviolent Communication, or other similar self-awareness and communication practices
