Summary

The Senior Business / Change Management Analyst will act as the liaison between the business units, technology teams, support teams, and third-party vendors. The individual will work directly with our utility clients to understand their business needs and translate them into requirements and process documentation. This individual will also be responsible for ensuring that deliverables meet client standards and expectations. The Senior Business / Change Management Analyst serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow. The successful candidate will work on multiple projects simultaneously and be a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Perform business analysis, change management activities, and utilize established methods and tools to support the execution of the REACTS Change Strategy
  • Hands-on support for team members, workstreams, and across the REACTS Program
  • Drive increased alignment, transparency, accountability, and ownership across the REACTS team:
    • Clarify roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities of each key working group across REACTS page documents with the support of resources across the Program team
    • Establish an approach for ongoing engagement and adjustments to roles and responsibilities as they occur throughout the execution
    • Further define and document hand-offs, collaboration requirements, communication needs, training needs, and other change management impacts for each working group/workstream
  • Identify and document refined processes in collaboration with the team and support the change management impacts and sustainment and reinforcement of associated changes driven by that team
  • Develop program-wide communications to drive increased stakeholder engagement and collaboration and establish repeatable processes for ongoing communication management
  • Coordinate and compile the REACTS Program section of the Engineering and Smart Grid communications
  • Establish and enhance communications channels based on evolving needs of REACTS, including leveraging additional communication mechanisms/channels available
  • Execute communications in alignment with the Communications Plan
  • Develop REACTS Change Management Playbook with defined processes, tools, roles and responsibilities, and an engagement approach for supporting change activities across the Program
  • Manage and execute REACTS change items/tasks, as tracked within the Change Tracker tool
  • Organize and support the resolution of barriers, roadblocks, or challenges identified during Phase 2 that have the potential to impede REACTS progress, including:
    • Improve clarity in ownership of tasks and associated roles and responsibilities across departments
    • Promote effective and transparent communications, including lessons learned and opportunities for improvement
    • Improve communications around changes to the REACTS Program schedule, scope, budget, resources, expectations, and supporting processes and activities
    • Support improved awareness and understanding of execution processes and efficiency and quality expectations in collaboration with the System of the Work team to align with the aggressive pace of REACTS
    • Drive understanding and awareness of a unified schedule with clear timelines and handoffs
  • Develop process and structure for team member recognition for contributions and other communication components that support positive reinforcement and culture-building across all teams
  • Implement changes and address team needs to be identified within the Clarity Workshop
  • Develop an adaptable and flexible plan for ongoing Change Management support needs for REACTS for 2021 and beyond, including the transition of activities as required

Requirements

  • 5+ years of business analysis and change management experience (Prosci methodology experience or certification preferred)
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred or 5+ years of professional experience
  • General Consulting experience at a top tier consulting firm – running workshops; defining requirements; mapping processes; developing technical specifications
  • Gas and electric utility experience – especially knowledge of field operations (Telecom/Fiber experience a plus)
  • Strong business analyst skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into an application and operational requirements
  • Possess strong oral and written communication to provide presentations to management
  • A team player with the willingness to assist coworkers on other projects as required
  • Familiarity with Microsoft based applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project)
  • Understanding of the business analysis and project management methods
  • Understanding of System Development Lifecycle (Waterfall and Agile)

Additional Requirements Desired

  • Project Management – PMP certification
  • Business Analysis – CBAP certification
