Scrum Master Job Description

Job Description

 

A Scrum Master at Rightpoint has well developed scrum management, project management, client partnering and leadership skills and has a proven track record managing multi-disciplinary teams delivering projects on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction. As a Scrum Master you will be working with teams to facilitate planning and execution of client projects through the full project lifecycle.   

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage multiple scrum teams (1 – 2) as Scrum Master, collaborating with Product Owners, design, and development teams on project workflow
  • Assist in communicating and mitigating cross-team dependencies to maintain team velocity
  • Facilitate all necessary team meetings (sprint planning, daily standups, feedback meetings, sprint reviews/retrospectives, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Scrum teams and Product Owners in developing sprint reports and workflows
  • Drive the execution of projects and manage all project related requests with the client
  • Manage and deliver quality projects on budget, on time, and on schedule
  • Responsible for project scope, risks, schedule, budget, quality, and communication
  • Create and manage project plans, status reports, risk assessment plans, change orders, resource needs etc
  • Anticipate risks and obstacles, and address them with the team in a proactive manner
  • Work closely with the Account Manager, communicate with clients and teams on an ongoing basis and ensure changing resource and project requirements are met and understood
  • Accurately forecast revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization
  • Effectively interact with the client project manager, product owners and other business users
  • Leverage project knowledge and client relationships to assist in revenue growth within the account
  • Facilitate communication between clients, 3rd party vendors and internal staff
  • Participate in internal PMO programs including project retrospectives and internal process initiatives

 

We’re looking for a talented Scrum Master with strong experience, which usually includes:

 

  • A four-year college education
  • 3-6 years or more of Scrum Master and/or agile coaching experience
  • Experience in the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (plan, design, development, testing, and deployment) and have worked with both business and technology teams
  • A background in content management systems, ecommerce, or other digital technologies
  • Has provided agile training to clients and stakeholders
  • Consulting experience a major plus
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) a plus
  • Developed relationship management skills
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and diplomatically manage conflict 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – you’re articulate, poised and convincing
  • Willingness to travel as needed – you’re open to new places, new faces and new ideas
