Summary

The Senior Project Manager will act as the client representative over an Integrated Property Tax System Implementation by Tyler Technologies.

This position will report to the Director of Operations

Responsibilities

  • Provide the Property Tax System (PTS) Steering Committee with an independent and unbiased view of the status and progress of the project
  • Serve as a dedicated resource that will represent the client during the transition, implementation, and post-implementation of the selected system
  • Meet with the various stakeholder to understand the functional requirements of each system
  • Propose and implement an information-sharing/management platform to keep all stakeholders engaged and informed of the project status
  • Assist in managing the project scope, project plan, deliverables, and timeline with assistance from representatives from Tyler
  • Ensure that the project team stays focused, tasks are complete on schedule and that the project stays on track
  • Coordinate project tasks with the assistance from representatives from Tyler Technologies
  • Assist with the coordination of the client’s implementation team
  • Function as the main point of contact for Tyler’s Project Manager, and participate in daily project activities, and track project tasks
  • Hold quarterly meetings with the client’s Steering Committee to update project status, budget status, and to research a verdict on any escalated process decisions that need to be made
  • Oversee the management of the implementation of the PTS contract including the project budget, the initial review of invoices for services, cost control, and change orders; develop an escalation path to address critical issues with the PTS Executive Steering Committee; and ensure that the contract remains on schedule with the approved project plan and deliverables are received in a timely and complete manner
  • Validate vendor invoices reflect the completion of the project milestones before payment
  • Ensure the completion of the documentation of workflow processes for each department
  • Report on status and performance against scope, schedule, cost baselines, contract, service level agreements, and other key performance indicators
  • Ensure compliance with requirements
  • Manage resource time and utilization

Requirements

  • 10 - 15 years’ direct work experience in a project management capacity including all aspects of project initiation, planning, development execution, and delivery
  • 10 - 15 years’ of experience in a consulting environment, specifically with Integrated Property Tax solution by Tyler Technologies - including hands-on management of large project teams consisting of both technical and business resources
  • PMP certification is required
  • Experience managing software development related projects in Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Understanding of web-application programming; especially java development
  • Familiarity with database and operating systems, specifically Oracle, SQL Server, UNIX, and Windows
  • Experience with MS Project and other programs/project management tools
  • Familiarity with application servers such as Web Logic, WebSphere, and JBoss

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Flexible schedule for off-hour responsibilities/emergencies
