Job Description
The Scrum Master role is responsible for implementation of prioritized data engineering products via agile Sprints within the Streaming Data Enablement (SDE) and READAR (Real Time Anomaly Detection and Automated Response Platform) teams. He/she will oversee multiple high-priority projects, which often require high levels of functional integration and cross-functional resources. Scrum master duties include managing planning events, timelines, running daily stand-ups, backlog management, review and manage user stories, resolving problems and coaching team members on agile methodologies. Scrum master closely works under the direction of Software Engineering Manager on overall engineering delivery efforts partnering with technical product owner on features management.
These projects are on the radar of upper management and the expectation is that this level would be able to communicate the status of projects at any point in time. The sprints will deliver incremental engineering features and related business functionality.
Responsibilities:
· Coach the scrum team to become a self-organized, cross-functional and highly efficient team that delivers high-quality products
· Collaborate with Manager and Product Owner to plan roadmap execution based on estimates and capacity; also identify risks to the plan
· Manages Sprint release deliverables, providing clarity and story assignments to the scrum team and removing impediments
· Participate in planning event and manage execution planning
· Facilitate documenting, publishing and executing the teams’ continuous improvement plan
· Strong communication, leadership and relationship building
· Model, promote, and encourage Agile values, best practices, processes, and behaviors
· Publish and present teams’ agile metrics to management and stakeholders
· Participate and/or Lead scrum adoption practices across the organization and related Community of Practices
· Publish and present teams’ agile metrics to management and stakeholders
· Facilitates team activities including daily stand up meetings, grooming, sprint planning, demonstrations, release planning and team retrospectives
· Identifies dependencies between agile teams and communicates and resolves dependencies between different teams
· Manages Sprint release deliverables and proactively identifies and resolves impediments to ensure Sprint release stays on track and update Sprint activities in Agile planning and execution tracking tool
Skills Required
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
· Bachelors degree in Information Technology, or related
· 2+ years of experience in coaching and mentoring skills on Agile methodology and understand Scrum framework.
Skills Desired
If we had our say, we’d also look for:
· 2+ years Scrum Master experience in a large organization
· 3+ years software development project manager experience
· Experience with SDLC (both Waterfall and Agile hands on experience)
· Experience in Agile / Scrum development methodologies & tools (Jira)
· Experience proving reporting through JIRA
· Scaled Agile Framework
· Problem solving, analytical and creative thinking
· Teamwork and collaboration; interpersonal skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including managing client expectations, communicating issues, risks, and opportunities, and articulating a clear vision of project success
· Hands-on experience with Rally, Jira, MS Teams, and Miro
· Experience managing complex Data Engineering projects
· Knowledge and exposure to ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Loading) and data pipelines building experience
· Having working knowledge of Databases and SQL (Structured Query Language)
