ABOUT THE ROLE:

The ShopRunner Analytics team drives insights into every aspect of our business and supports a wide variety of organizational stakeholders. This Senior Business Analyst Manager will be a critical member of the ShopRunner Analytics team and will collaborate cross-functionally within the organization.  This role will work across the analytics team to manage data projects, coordinate team working processes, and balance multiple concurrent work streams in our fast-paced work environment. The role reports to the VP of Analytics.

ABOUT WHAT YOU’LL DO:  

The work you do will enhance ShopRunner’s data quality and improve the ability of the analytics team to strategically empower the business. You will...

  • Track and coordinate processes for manual data maintenance
  • Drive roadmaps for analytics-led initiatives
  • Track data bug fixes - that you collect from the broader group of SQL users or even identify yourself
  • Manage data release processes to ensure that all SQL users are aware of new datasets being created
  • Coordinate and develop data resources (like data dictionaries)

Additionally, in this role you will be the right hand of the VP of Analytics, having both operational and strategic input.  You will...

  • Support team communications such as tracking and synthesizing team outcomes
  • Manage the shared working meetings and processes for the analytics team, creating and improving processes where needed
  • Facilitate coordination amongst the analytics team - such as ensuring that analysis use cases are collected in a consistent manner and used to inform teams building data and ETL scripts
  • Identify risks and opportunities.  Escalate issues.  Help resolve miscommunication.
  • Support the development of the team culture - Coaching, mentoring, fostering collaboration, and helping to drive consistent practices.

ABOUT WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Required:

  • 4+ years of experience as a project manager with at least 1 year of experience in relevant domain/industry
  • BS or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Familiarity with data policy, data quality, data analysis, and reporting concepts
  • Understanding of data issues that impact user experience and remediations that needs to be applied to fix data issues, via Business processes and technical capabilities
  • Foundational knowledge of SQL and Excel for querying, manipulating, and visualizing datasets
  • Experience using business intelligence tools, like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Qlikview
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
  • Track record of independently owning and proactively driving projects
  • Deep empathy for business needs and how to use data to help solve them

Preferred:

  • Experience working as part of a cross-functional team
  • Web analytics experience (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, etc) and an understanding of how clickstream data works
  • Hands-on experience performing analyses or building reports
  • Understanding of the issues and complexities that happen with very large datasets
  • Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL, and data architecture concepts
