Job Description:  We are seeking a Junior Technical Project Manager to play a pivotal role, serving as a connection between the software development team, account managers, customers, and overall business initiatives.  The role will entail project based initiatives, including the completion and customer transition and implementation to an upgraded software platform. 

A Junior Technical Product Manager involves wearing many hats and using a broad company and customer awareness to make trade-off decisions, while bringing together cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment. 

The role will influence and own decisions around what gets developed, built and launched, and influence all aspects.  The role will interact with account managers and customers to acutely understand customer needs and prioritize company specific initiatives and optimize IT development initiatives.  The Software Project Manager will also orchestrate the daily/weekly and long term product development roadmap and work closely with disparate teams to gather feedback and stage gate and/or advance solutions.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction, planning, and project management leading to the successful transition from the legacy fulfillment environment to the new platform.
  • Establish work schedules and measures progress against project milestones, working closely with functional leads and their teams;
  • Report work plan progress, variances, issues, risks and associated mitigation strategies to the company leadership;
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, with high quality, within budget, and meet the measures of success.
  • Identify, analyze and mitigate technical risks associated with projects.
  • Gathers, identifies, and defines tasks required to successfully complete technical migration effort.
  • In conjunction with technical team, provides estimates for tasks and/or projects.
  • Identify and assess technical risks and provide mitigation strategy
  • Assist with technical problem solving
  • Partner with Account Manager(s) to define project scope, plan, and timeline to ensure the project aligns with company strategy, Clients requests and timelines.
  • Ensures that an agreed change management process is in place and followed accordingly.
  • Implements escalation management
  • Assures the successful passing of any projects stages or quality gates
  • Managing, monitoring and control risks – monitoring residual risk, identifying new risk, executing risk reduction plans and evaluating their effectiveness s throughout the project(s) life cycle.
  • Define and actively manage project acceptance criteria.
  • Join/facilitate business requirements reviews and project reviews meetings.
  • Assist with product documentation

Requirements:

  • Requires experience in several of the following: software builds development lifecycle management, technical architecture development and requirements management, design, testing and implementation of custom applications and business systems.
  • Prior exposure to projects using Microsoft stack of technologies (SQL Server, MVC, C#/.Net)
  • Ability to translate amongst technical and non-technical constituents 
  • Teamwork – is able to effectively support performing teams and work as part of a team.
  • Motivating others – experience in motivating strong, independent minded personalities
  • Networking skills – build a network with the organization to ensure project delivery.
  • Deep technical experience and ability to understand technical components and workflow of technical projects and programs.
  • Strong ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts.
  • Technical project management experience in a technical project delivery environment.
  • Experience in creating product documentation
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Skilled communication – written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
