How You Can Make an Impact

The Software Project Manager is responsible for managing complex IT initiatives related to the development of global trading technologies for Geneva LLC.

 As the Software Project Manager, you will work cross-functionally with our development and operation teams to execute on the design, development, delivery, and support of technical solutions our proprietary systems. You will oversee multiple projects using an Agile methodology through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.

  • Implement Agile methodology at an enterprise-wide level
  • Streamline current trading project prioritization using Agile/Scrum methodology with the goal of increasing efficiency and driving consensus among teams
  • Drive and Influence business and development teams throughout the organization to milestones and deliverables
  • Lead annual software technology project planning with Senior Management team
  • Manage our product and project pipeline using best practices in project management, including prioritization, tracking and reporting processes
  • Define scope of the project, create a detailed work plan, determine resources required, and execute the schedule for project completion
  • Ensure successful execution of each project, including driving any required escalation, resolving resource gaps/dependencies, foster an environment where risk/controls are anticipated and proactively addressed
  • Determine metrics and reporting to evaluate post-implementation change and improvement
  • Support development teams through management coaching, tracking of critical defects, project retrospectives, depreciation of old technology, recruiting, and new-hire onboarding

 What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM-related field
  • 10+ years of experience working in a leadership PM role
  • Experience working in trading, or financial services industry 
  • Software development domain expertise (i.e. continuous release cycles)
  • Expert level understanding of Agile/Scrum with a proven history of successful software implementation at a business unit or enterprise-wide level
  • Proven success leading multiple software projects using foundational Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC) knowledge
  • Proven leadership experience in Software delivery, building and sustaining high performing teams. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI_ACP) is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated complex problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to translate solutions from ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Exceptional skills in report writing and making technical presentations 
  • Ability to be a team player willing to cooperate and coordinate with other technical staff 
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment 
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment 
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
