Department OverviewSystem Integration Project Management team manages the development and/or implementation of Motorola Solutions products or services and coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgraded existing products or services.
Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the implementation of Communication System Projects and will act and be recognized as the leader / focal point for all aspects of assigned project(s). Responsible for delivering the contractual scope, on schedule and within budget, while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Job Description
Overview:
Manages the development and/or implementation of Motorola Solutions products or services. Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgraded existing products or services. Manages projects from inception to completion (or transition), including tracking and evaluation of project performance. Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and within accepted quality metrics. Participates in project review and status meetings, and communicates project status. Utilizes six sigma and project management industry best practices to ensure maximum project effectiveness. Motivates project team to ensure optimal performance.
Responsibilities:
As a Group Lead - Senior Project Manager, additional responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.
- Being the point of contact for PMs or customer escalations for any projects in territory
- Providing input to pre-sale on budgetary quotes, RFPs and proposals
- Owning the large and/or strategic projects in territory
- Attending and presents at the Quarterly Business Reviews
- Providing input on equipment shipments for all projects in the territory during the equipment backlog call.
- Reviewing quarterly project slides for any projects in this territory that are not owned by them.
- Acting as a mentor to newer PMs within the group, when appropriate
Additional Skills:
- Engineering background or working knowledge a plus.
- An MBA is considered an asset. PM masters certificate or equivalent desired. PMP certification preferred.
- Understanding of two way radio communications, NG911, LTE and CAD products, services, and systems.
- Understanding of local public safety customers, such as police, fire, and emergency medical services.
- Must be a self motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives. Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Must be fluent user of word processing, spreadsheet and project management tools
Basic Requirements
- BS and 7+ years of experience in project/program management or engineering
- OR 10+ years of experience in project/program management or engineering
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
