Job Description
A Senior Program Manager is part of a key team of Technology professionals managing technical programs that deliver significant business value to Nordstrom and its customers. They can identify unaddressed issues, work on solutions or find the appropriate owner to ensure only high-quality deliverables are released. Success is measured in terms of Return on Investment (ROI), new capabilities, and benefit delivery. The Senior Program Manager partners with internal stakeholders to develop, design, build and launch technology solutions, and are responsible for end-to-end quality of what is released. This position interacts with people in both business and technical roles to create specifications and resolve issues with an eye toward continuous improvement. This position works across department and functional lines on a variety of programs that range in scope, risk, and complexity.
The Product Platform team is seeking Sr Program Manager to support engineering teams as we intensify the pace of innovation and move towards future growth through technology solutions. You will be working across multiple areas within Product Platform: Product data Management, Product Search, Product Catalog, tooling to enable Product set up, enrichment, selling, buying, planning, allocation.
We will be building set of APIs, UI, search capabilities, data streaming and governance processes intended to support integrations with all Nordstrom suppliers and provide data to manage the selection, buying, setup, purchase, enrichment and selling processes end to end
Across the domain you will drive a vision to leverage cloud technologies and industry best practices to create our next generation platform. You will own both producers and consumers of product data and are able to power greater automation of the full Product lifecycle for one of North America’s top fashion retailers.
A day in the life…
Manage programs of high impact, risk, complexity while building and executing integrated plans across multiple teams
Present demos, status updates and risk/mitigation strategies and communicate down the pyramid through VP level
Apply experience as well as technical, functional and customer expertise to define the technical components of a multi-year capability roadmap
Successfully manage resource planning and a large team budget, accurately forecasting 6 months ahead and explaining variances
Possess strong level knowledge of technology (e.g. Cloud, APIs, services, Windows stack, open source, database technologies, etc.)
Use engineering lifecycle knowledge and prior experience to drive improvements
Proactively manages work execution through program dependencies, risks, schedules, budgets and understands the importance of requirements gathering, prioritization, and clear stakeholder communication
Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Customer Journey, Story breakdown, estimation, and slicing, Definition of Done
Experience with continuous delivery model, CICD pipeline, Test Driven development,
A very good understanding and experience with different Types of testing in Software
Uses data to report status, performance and communicates using fact-based and relevant data
Applies engineering lifecycle knowledge to feature design, task estimation, design review, story creation, triage, scheduling, and performance standards
Demonstrates Thought leadership in areas of Program Management and innovation.
Reads basic code constructs, and understands estimates of effort to complete engineering work streams
Can perform basic data analysis and testing tasks when needed
You own this if you have…
A 4-year degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience
5+ years of Program Management experience
5+ years of demonstrated successful program delivery
Experience managing stakeholder relationships
Deep understanding of SDLC methodologies
Experience translating technical requirements into plans
Experience translating business requirements into executable technical tasks
Comfortable working with remote teams
Deeper understating of Agile framework
Deeper understanding of Different Testing type in software
