Strategic Account Manager at Eight Bit Studios

OK, so where do you fit in? 

Eight Bit Studios is looking for an organized and collaborative Strategic Account Manager to join our team. You must be able to work on site in Chicago and you must actually love what you do. We’re looking for a team leader and client partner who is super adaptable and can collaborate closely with our new business and project management teams to transition projects to internal teams, track key project milestones and scope, and continually delight our clients! 

As a Strategic Account Manager, you will bring your history of successful execution of mobile and web account management to our collaborative environment. You will actively participate in pre-research, consultative question asking, SOW review, and follow-up sessions with our new and existing clients to make sure the process is collaborative and communicative from the start. You will help manage the project handoff from our new business team to the project managers by leading our internal project kick-off meeting and ensuring our internal teams understand the high level feature buckets of the project, as well as what success will look like to our client partner. You will continue to be involved through the strategy and research phase by capturing scope changes and following up with clients to ensure the overall strategy is on track. Once design sprints begin, you will attend all sprints and client sprint reviews to capture scope creep and keep our client fully in the loop. 

Through it all, you will keep a great communication channel open by conducting weekly check-ins with all stakeholders, work closely with the PM’s on project issues, keep a hawk eye on the project scope and be a champion of empathy for both the team and the client partner. 

Are you still with us? Great, now here’s what you need for the role: 

  • 10+ years relevant experience in a client facing, business-centric role (project/account management, strategy, sales, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, initiate change, and collaborate across groups 
  • Experience working with cross functional digital teams (User Experience,  Design and Technology) on multiple projects. Direct agency experience is preferred
  • Confidence to lead teams and represent Eight Bit out in the world
  • Strong problem solving skills, creative instincts, and a passion for building long term client relationships
